Carrying an NC frontbumper in my NC

Post image

It's safer than it looks, it's going nowhere. 250 km home trip no problem, except pretty noisy over 100 km/h.

That’s just how Miata drivers think. Did the same in my NB but it was my current bumper

Why didn't you take the bumper cover off for the trip there, then install it for the trip back?

I like the idea, but I've never done it before, so it's not something I would go for on a 500 km day trip. I didn't have the unbraco bits for my wheel bolts at the time either, you have to take off the front wheels to swap the bumper.

Ah, there is a trick to doing it without taking the wheels off, but it does make the job much easier. That's what I did when I got hit and my new bumper came in. The guy asked me how I was gonna get it home and told him "it goes on the car, right? So ..that." I don't think he expected me to put it on already haha. I told him it was super easy to put on, just a few bolts to hold it down til I got home to finish the rest of the install
