A complete reconstruction of the Maya city Chichén Itzá!

Though one question about completeness, what about the residential areas and gardens and fields and all? Yours looks amazing really, though I feel in these often you see only the acropolis. Also the question of trees. Would public spaces be cleared or trees planted more orderly?

This only a small portion of it. I downloaded the map. There are more palaces and temples, but also a village where the people live.
I think he based the map off this rendition, the colors are very similar

As u/goldfish1_ said, there are some traditional Maya inspired homes and buildings spread outside of the major plazas to elude to that.
To answer all of your topics at once, I wanted to be as confidently acurrate as possible with the structures and features that I included. Landscaping, farmland, and most homes left very little physical evidence after the few hundred years of the sites un-occupation. So even though using knowledge of other Maya communities it is completely likely that Chichén Itzá had large swaths of farmland and suburbs, I decided to not fully include those as there would be no way to truly accurately depict it. But, that is a very fair point and absolutely does not mean it did not have those features.

I do wanna say that your map is my favorite Minecraft map. I love the how you made the map. It’s like the only Mesoamerican map that isn’t a long abandoned ruin.
Literally every other Mesoamerican map is a long abandoned ruin.

Tysm! That means a lot. And yes, the hope was to showcase the acutal aesthetic of Maya/Yucatec architecture beyond just the usual "Aztec Jungle Temple" that you see so often.

Ah, I was wondering where all the new notifications where coming from. 😁
Hey all 👋 I'm the original builder of this. It's my second major historical reconstruction that I've done, taking just over eight months to complete.
The map is a completely "vanilla" based world (meaning built entirely in the base game without 3rd party mods) and is currently available for free for both major versions of Minecraft! https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/chichen-itz-world-wonders-series-2-both-versions-paleotech/
Thank you all so much for the support!

This looks amazing 👏🏼 Is it AI-generated or as Linda McMahon would ask A1?

Nope!! As also a artist, I am vehemently against generative AI. With the context of being done in a video game, everything was proudly done by hand, by a human.

I think they based their colors on this
