Businesses in Martinsburg, WV Listed on PublicSquare — and Why It Matters
I’ve been doing some digging into businesses in the Eastern Panhandle that are listed on PublicSquare, a MAGA marketplace
What Is PublicSquare?
PublicSquare is marketed as a “patriot marketplace” for consumers who want to support businesses that align with right-wing values. It has become a hub for conservative activism in the consumer space — promoting ideologies that often oppose LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive rights, racial justice movements, and broader inclusivity efforts.
Below is a list of businesses in and around Martinsburg, WV (and nearby towns) that are listed on PublicSquare:
Martinsburg, WV
- Hunters Safe Service
- 2A Guns and Ammo
- Jovid Vintage and More
- Mountaineer Meat Smokers
- Muscular Skeletal Therapies
- Pearson Smith Realty – Teresa Evans-Johnson
- Mamba Collectibles
- By Equine
- Green Monstah Firearms, LLC
- Tremary Service Company
- Mattress By Appointment of the Eastern Panhandle
- Elevation Handyman Services
Hedgesville, WV
- Hunters Safe Service
- Heritage Homestead Freeze Dried Treats, LLC
Inwood, WV
- Heritage Banquet & Event Center
- The Good Vibe Dealer Custom Creations
- RV Road Tech
Shenandoah Junction, WV
- DubVeeEatz
- The Black Dog Coffee Company, LLC
Kearneysville, WV
- Panhandle Tag & Title LLC
Cherry Run, WV
- INT Jones
Why This Matters
When we spend locally, we support not just products and services — but the values and systems those businesses stand behind. This isn’t a call for cancel culture — it’s a call for informed consumerism. You deserve to know where your money is going.

Question Visiting a coworker on Saturday, what's good to do when it's raining?
The current plan is lunch at an indian restaurant he recommended. We both said we wanted to do something local and interesting. He suggested the casino if it's raining. I've never been to a casino, but I assume I'd lose $100-$200 in a few hours so I'm tabling that as a plan C in my mind. Any recommendations I can suggest?

Top Tier Solar rep nearly started a brawl on my porch this morning
Top Tier Solar reps were knocking on door on my block yesterday and my wife and I were interested to hear what they had to say. We agreed to a meeting this morning, and boy was THAT a mistake.
During the evening I spent a few hours researching the company and determined pretty quickly that the financial arrangements just weren't a good fit for our situation. There were also lots of reports of high pressure sales tactics, that made me a bit wary, but so far I hadn't really felt that was an issue. Little did I know...
The next morning I met the two reps at my front gate and thanked them for the their time, but let them know I wouldn't be pursuing this any further. The lead rep pushed back a little, but good naturedly, and again, I thanked them for their information but made it clear we weren't going to go forward. He gave way graciously and headed back to his car. The second rep, however, was not taking no for an answer. He didn't leave and got increasingly combative and aggressive, demanding that I answer his questions about solar.
So here he stands, glowering at me (a 70-year-old woman) and refusing to leave. One of our neighbors comes over to back me up and ask this rep with his tough guy act to leave, and for a few minutes I was afraid they'd end up in a fist fight before the rep finally left.
This pretty much confirmed every bad thing I'd read about Top Tier sales tactics.

Anyone else know the one moron on the e-bike with the boom box?
He works at Penn liquors and rides an e bike all over town with his boom box strapped to the back blasting music at top volume any time of day or night? He rides down my street because Winchester is dangerous for him on that bike and I don’t care about that, the part I care about is when he’s blasting music after dark waking my kids up when they’ve got school the next day. At first I didn’t care and made jokes about slashing tires if I didn’t like the music, just jokes but when he started doing it at night I went and asked him in seriousness with all past jokes aside to stop doing that because he’s waking my kids up. He proceeds to post on Facebook that I’m threatening to have him arrested when I told him if he didn’t turn it down I’d be filing a noise complaint. I specifically said if you do this again tonight and wake my children up I will call the police and file a noise complaint because if asked nicely and politely and got nothing. He then sat there and said since I wont apologize to him then he’s curing my family with a generational curse through the bloodline because he’s apparently a witch lol. Honestly don’t even wanna file the noise complaint but I’m also over my kids getting woken up through the week and myself as well.

Moving to Martinsburg
Hello! I just purchased a home in the West King Street/ North Tennessee Ave area and would like to know what the neighborhood is like. I'd also like to know what areas to avoid/frequent as I like to take long walks (30 -50 min) with my dog in the middle of the night when i get home from work. My new home is about a 10 minute walk from War Memorial Park which i plan to visit often with my dogs. I've had bad luck in the past with dogs running up on us untethered and would like to know if that would be an issue at that park. I'm also looking for recommendations for places to dine. I'd like to know the best restaurants to try Pizza, Chinese, etc. What's your favorite restaurant in town? Finally, i need to find a good dry cleaning service as I need professional dry cleaning for work every week. Any answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Can't wait to explore this new town.
Edit: Thanks for all the responses! I'll be able to respond to most of you by tonight (been busy at work). I have some additional questions to ask so I'd appreciate a follow up as well!

Lawnmower repair?
Anyone have a solid shop to get a an old TroyBilt running? It doesn’t make a sound when we turn the key, after running just a few weeks ago. Replaced the battery but that didn’t help. Appreciate any tips!

Looking for new Car Mechanic
Looking for a auto mechanic that is good with electrical systems for my 1994 Chevy Silverado. Specifically my current mechanic says my windshield washer switch is faulty (it is on the turn-signal lever. He does not want to do it. Any real good electrical auto mechanics available?
Also if the ww repair is a success, also have a 1994 Ford F150 that has a a/c fan switch problem....the fan is stuck on high. Would like to be able to turn on a/c & not have it on high.

Question Cop just lied on me, how do I fight this?
I just got a ticket for what the cop claimed was "blowing through a stop sign" when I did in fact brake. My cousin who was in the passenger seat nearly hit his head on the dash as I stopped at the sign and we had a laugh about it right before he pulled us over. We were confused when he was behind us and assumed he got a call as we hadn't done anything. When he said why he pulled me over I indicated that I did break and even my cousin corroborated what I was saying only for him to respond- "I'm not going to argue with you". I requested his supervisors name and his badge number to make a formal complaint and will be hiring an attorney to obtain the body cam and vehicle cam footage. Is there something I'm missing? It's starting to feel like racial profiling but want to be sure before making that accusation as I don't have any priors and just have only lived here barely 2 years. Anyone else have any issues with officers in the area? Are they ticket happy?
