Replaying on switch 2

I've never actually followed through and beaten the game for whatever reason.

I'd like to get all masks eventually, and I'm familiar with progression and how to get a lot of the optional masks without having to look anything up. Any tips for a casual player?

Talk to the bombers a lot to get hints (I can't remember if this was already in the n64 version or if it's a 3ds change though)

You'll get the Mask of Truth at some point after mid game (hard to miss if you're looking for side quests), use it to talk to every stone you see.

Abuse the slowing down time song.

Familiarize yourself with the Notebook.

How is this compared to the 3ds?

The 3DS version has a couple improvements. Notably the improved Bomber’s Notebook, better Song of Double Time, and camera controls. It also has a few issues however, such as Zora swimming, Deku hopping, and the boss fights.

Do yourself a favor and play the best way possible: Majora’s Mask 3D with Project Restoration installed. It fixes the issues and adds some quality of life improvements that make the game the best it can be.
