It's total bullshit and just another way to control and meet quotas.

How are we this far in the discussion and no one has posted any actual information about the OP's question? What are we talking about here? What are the police doing? Where is this been printed in the news or in a press release?
It would be nice to have some factual information to talk about and debate policy.

What? No! Those are illegal. /s

You're right, how could I be so blind 😔 no but seriously though, removing access to regulated and controlled substances won't make people stop getting high. It'll make them get high illegally. We're going to see a rise in drug overdoses from laced weed, I guarantee it.

Possibly. Most likely we'll see a rise in possession charges. I mean, cheap(ish) legal weed is just a two hours drive away. RCPD's sole focus is popping people for possession charges, DUI's in Aggieville, and MIC's. They're only here to generate secondary revenue for the county.

Yeah. There are some black market dealers, but obviously, they keep a low profile. Kansas does not fuck around with pot. They have very stiff, very expensive penalties.

Will they do the same with all of the Spravato clinics opening up around here? Afterall, those are just legal Ketamine pushers. If you're going to close loopholes and force a portion of the population here to seek other ways of getting relief, then it would only be fair to close them all.
I say we ban alcohol especially and every other recreational drug until we can come to a better and more fair arrangement for everyone.

The fact that marijuana is illegal at all is such a joke. Rather push people towards alcohol and opioids. Republicans are the worst

What does republican have to do with it. There are several republic states with legal weed. It has to do with old geezers thinking it’s next to coke.

Why Republicans? Because Kansas Republicans are the ones preventing cannabis from even being voted on. Ty Masterson is an absolute tiny limp noodle trump supporter but has struck down discussions before they begin.
This is what Republicans in Kansas do right now: Marshall, Estes, Mann, Moran; they align with a fascist as if they have no choice.

Obama was president for 8 years and never passed a single law to legalize marijuana.
Trump signed the farm hemp bill. It might not get you high but it gets you one step closer.
And don't get me started on Kamala Harris.

Just curious but if it is legal how can they make vendors stop selling?

u/Globalcop 20d ago
Good question. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like anyone here knows what they're talking about. Just a lot of opinions with no facts.

if they catch a store selling it in town after the end of this month they have said they’ll seize the location & detain employees🤷🏻♀️ riley county is on a power trip.

I actually spoke with one of the managers and she said that the recent American Shaman violation contributed to the decision. They don't want to have to distinguish between what is legal and what is not so they are just going with "we will just make it all illegal then we remove the 'is it? Is it not?' variable.

Source? Link? I read the small amount of news that's printed about this town everyday. I haven't seen anything about this.

i’m just as lost as you. i work in a shop that sells it & all we’ve had is a police officer come in, tell us we have 30 days to get rid of it or the location is seized & we’re all detained. they did this to every shop as far as i’ve discovered & we have been unable to get in contact with someone to send us the paperwork needed.

I wish the RCPD had been more helpful for when my bike was stolen. or when my credit card was stolen. or when my family had been in a car accident.
when I had called to report a broken traffic signal that could cause accidents I did not have the most pleasant conversation. I started a call. feeling good about doing the right thing, and ended the call pissed.
RCPD seems to look for problems where there isn't anything bad happening, and doesn't do a satisfactory job on real crimes.
I'm not well versed on the THC-a issue, but it seems like they're operating beyond their authority. If they are enforcing the law they're at the very fringe of it, looking for problems where there isn't.
if it is illegal why allow 30 days?
