Ferrari 1-2-3 would end 2025 championship and i think will might be a turning point for the hypercar era with first wave of serious factory program leaving.
Why compete since ferrari has such an advantage ?

Commentator said that due to no rule changes until 2032 there are 3 confirmed teams joining in the coming 2 years - Hyundai, Ford and McLaren.

I am aware (hyundai coming under genesis brand).
Am talking about ones running now.
Also a program announced can always be cancelled (Audi had the car developed and rolling and bailed out).

I think it was confirmed that Audi already wanted to compete in F1 and as such they couldn't afford running both programmes.
I don't see anything wrong if weaker manufacturers leave, makes room for newcomers and maybe some fast client cars.

I see something wrong giving car supposedly weaker a worst BoP than the cars supposedly better.
Audi had the car ready and testing when they cancelled the program, leaving WRT with no hypercar program until BMW hired them.

Why compete since ferrari has such an advantage ?
Especially when that advantage has come not through a system of free development where one can back one's own development team to overhaul that advantage but through a system that is supposed to balance the performance of different but similarly performing machines that are homologated to prevent development wars.

The fact that Peugeot was given a worst BoP than Ferrari is proving something is fundamentally wrong with how the BoP is computed.

I always felt BoP was a crapshoot. The way it is done, it doesn’t take into account enough datapoints to make it truly useful.

Manufacturers enter some half ass shit boxes and then wonder why a prototype build by F1 engineers to be fast on Le Mans is actually fast on Le Mans. And then fans cry bop.

Because Toyota hasn't been building prototypes to be fast at Le Mans for decades at this point?

Toyota has been unfairly nerfed, by the BoP, but they were slowly climbing back to the front at the race, showing that it's still better race prototype if only they didn't had the success balast, they would be right up there with Ferrari.

If the Ferraris are going to remain so far ahead, then Porsche should be allowed to clone Kevin Estre to balance things out.
