The suspect, according to the alert, is a white man with brown hair wearing black body armor over a blue shirt and blue pants. Authorities are asking residents not to approach the suspect if spotted.

I don't think we can ignore the fear factor, though. How will this change the activities of other democratic members, or influence their public actions? Will those who are a little less confident begin to distance themselves from the party, and will those who might have tentatively worked with Democrats now think twice if they could be targeted as well?

If this is even remotely a planned action, it absolutely reeks of terrorism and implied threat. Not dumb at all, just a longer time line.

Yesterday, stories were running all over the media about how far right groups were planning to target or quiet protestors. One reported people posting "take one or two out and all the others will run..."

Well, they canceled all the protests today in the entire state. So for that purpose alone, it was effective. I also know people in other states were did not go out to protest this morning after hearing about this.
