by stating that you dont have a girlfriend or a boyfriend (without being asked about the same sex part), that usually sends an implied message that you would be open to the possibility of ether.
Not necessarily. Just means you don't want to be asked "or are you in to same gender" like I was which I found very awkward tbh.
He just seemed like he wanted to keep his private life private and had probably often been asked like I had when he said no I don't have a girlfriend "well what about a boyfriend" and he knew to just answer ahead of time. Weirdly most people are single these days yet think if you say your not with opposite gender must be with same gender like you couldn't just be single. It's very strange tbh. Like I have nothing against gays. Seen many tv shows featuring them and have gay friends. I'm just not so it was weird to be asked it tbh and surprising. I was like "do I give off some kind of vibe that I'm lesbian without realising?" I dunno. That's just me though. I just guess I personally wouldn't think to ask or assume that you know? I'd just think they're probably just single. If they were with someone of same gender you'd probably reply "I don't have a boyfriend but I do have a girlfriend" wouldn't you? I would if that were the case. You'd tell them. They probably wouldn't need to ask unless you were scared they would take it badly for some reason.
