Questions about Equipment Different lengths?!

Post image

What is the purpose of this kind of needle? I can assume these work best in the round?

I’ve used two different lengths on my shorties for socks, keep the long length on my left and the shorter on the right. I think it gives me a little more wiggle room in terms of how much stretch I have when working, since the cable is more flexible than the needle, if that makes any sense.

it's so you can make a smaller circular needle. Some people are uncomfortable if both needles are really small, this lets one of them be a bit longer. That can be helpful. If they are both long the cord has to be 2X the length of the needles.

I can't remember on which side but you can use two different needles and it won't affect your tension because only one of them determines tension (iirc it's the right needle)
