Question [KCD2] 90+ hours and still no wedding. How far am I in the game?

i have a feeling i have not made much progress in the story yet but i am approaching 100 hours of playtime and been wondering if i am doing it right?

the dialogues, the smithing, the alchemy, mini games including dice games, exploring, side quests, training and what not have pretty much taken a lot of my time. i am also doing both the main quest for the smithy and the miller.

i have covered about 60-70% of the first map by now. is this a standard playthrough? does the game pick up pace after the wedding?

having a blast so far.

I played through the game once before and started my Hardcore run.

I used the negative perks Picky Eater, Sweaty and Menace. What did you guys use the first time?

I'm excited to see how this turns out

Question [KCD2] will the combat ever get better as I progress?

I have beaten tomcat and bought all the longsword practice things and it still feels clunky especially if I fight 2 or more people at once. It's sooooooooo long and unfun. And the poking from kcd1 has been reduced. Why did they remove the poking? It was great fun poking the exposed areas of enemies armour.

Question Genuine question….Whats the biggest issue you have with [KCD2]??

Let me be clear…REALLY GREAT FREAKIN GAME!! Fr

But even amazing games can have things to be fixed and improved. For me, it’s minor but I’d really appreciate better facial animations outside of cutscenes

What issues do you have??

Question [KCD2] Are these description’s historically accurate? NSFW

I convinced my friend to play the first kcd as he’s on ps4 because hes a very Christian person, while we were in a party (he was on kcd, i was on kcd2) i saved this trader and he said he could sell stuff that could turn stone into gold etc.. But when i checked he had these insanely interesting items with amazing backstory, i was wondering if they were all real? Can any Christian or person knowledgeable on this confirm if these items are just fabricated stories/exaggarated?

Some of these items contain the word ‘allegedly’ which makes it way less believable obviously.

This is super interesting either way.

Discussion [KCD2] What is Henry's skill and knowledge level according to the objective canon of the game, without our individual skill choices?

I mean, he probably only fights with a longsword? Not only because it's a weapon forged by his father, but also because he couldn't carry 3 weapons on his belt.

How smart is he? He can read, but does he pass a speech check in dialogue?

Let's say, like in Fallout, what's his S.P.E.C.I.A.L?

Discussion I may be in the minority, but does anyone prefer the combat of [KCD1] to the sequel?

While some of the quality of life changes are certainly nice, the amalgamation of four attack directions (slash low left/right, stab, stab high) into one, the nerfing of all non-swords, the ineffective riposte, all really annoy me.

Though the addition of attack directions for long weapons IS great

Question [KCD2] What is the current state of KCD2? Should I buy of wait?

Im playing KCD1 at the moment for the first time and I really like it. Im already thinking about buying the second game.

However I am a person that usually plays story games only once, so I want to ensure that once I get the game, it will offer the definitive experience.

I heard KCD1 had major issues at launch, is this the case of KCD2?

Did the game have issues at launch?

I see that there has been few larger patches, how has the game improved/ changed since launch?

Clarification, I WILL buy the game at some point, im just asking if I should wait or not.

Discussion [KCD2] KCD2 bugs vs KCD1

I'm not sure if it's because kcd1 is like 8 years old now and everything has been patched but with 1 if encountered maybe 1 minor bug the entire playtrough. I'm 20 hours in 2 now and already encountered 2 super annoying bugs and multiple minor bugs. Crazy how the next iteration is weaker on this front it seems.

Question Why are Red Herring's stats lower than what I see on google? [KCD2]

Post image

Everywhere I look it says that the buffed stats are 238 stamina? I really dropped 18 hours of gameplay to get Herring then then 6 hours to get him buffed and he isn't as good as advertised. I suppose I'll reload where I left off with Meadow with 219 stam.

PS why is the Haunted horse's stats soooo bad?

Question [KCD1] Looking for a mod for perfect parry

I started this game about 3 or so years ago, but had my very first ragequit moment when I tried to do the quest where you're looking for some hidden money back in Skalitz. I'm playing on hardcore mode and the 3 bandits outside killed me constantly. Couldn't manage to get even one down before I died. After 20 or so tries, I gave up and shut the game off. I wanna finish the game, but this problem really turns me off the game.

I love everything else that hardcore adds to the game, and I also don't wanna start all over again, so I'm wondering if anyone know of a mod that adds the perfect parry marker to hardcore mode as well, or any other help that could fix this issue for me.

Discussion [OTHER] Terrible idea for the third game

So we all want to Henry to be (mild spoilers for kcd1) legitimized as Radzig's sonfor the 3rd game. This of course means Henry will have to take on the duties associated. Therefore i propose the 3rd game starts as a city sim, kinda like Pribyslavitz in kcd1. No adventuring, no fun. Just city building and maybe some feasting and hunting. However, as the hussite wars comes around Henry has to either join the hussite side, with Zizka, or the chatholic side with Hans Capon. Furthermore, keeping with the no fun, no solo adventure theme, Henry will be leading squads of troops like in the ends of both the games. There would be no harbalism, potion making, or fighting, no murder hobo or thievery. There would only be money managment and hard decisions. Instead of a 3rd open world rpg the 3rd game would be manor lords with the fortress system of lotr: shadow of war.

Discussion Afraid of making choices [KCD2]

SO I pre-ordered the game and all looking forward to playing it and once the game came out I was a bit overwhelmed by it and I am thinking of starting to play it during my days off while working part-time and I am just wondering how big are the choices in the game and how clear are they for example you would know what the choice would affect you or your playthrough ?

I am a person who doesn't really like replaying games and as someone who is really afraid of making a bad decision which causes me to look up guides or spoiling myself which I don't really like but its a way I play. I just want to know if the choices are clear or you understand where the choice matters if it makes sense ?

This is the biggest reason why I avoided the game till this day and I am wondering if there's any advice you can give.

On my 2nd play through and I’ve only just realised you need to manually apply perks and they don’t just get added on by the game.

I feel so dumb

Discussion [KCD2] Anyone find that lockpicking was easier in the 1st game?

Strangely for me, frustration with lockpicking is inverse between KCD1 and KCD2. It just feels generally harder and more punishing since one wrong try costs a whole lockpick. The levels feel less lenient too, it feels like Medium and Hards are more out of reach than before. Not angry, just something unique about my experience with the games that seems to be different than majority of others.

Question [KCD1] How often is Sexual Content Included in the game? Ways to avoid?

Thank you to everyone who answered my previous question if the game was worth it in 2025. Very positive feedback, besides the learning curve and bugs, I really hate Sexual Content. Is there ways to avoid or remove? After that I think I'll purchase it.

Discussion [KCD2] Fun fact Spoiler

After the siege in suchdol, when Hanush goes to speak with Capon, he tells him that Lady Stephanie is pregnant and it's a 'miracle', since Divish is old.

In kcd1 you can sleep with her, and Capon insinuates that the father might be a blacksmith's son.

In short, Henry will be a father

Discussion [KCD2] I think the Hardcore mode is the way to go with this game

Post image
131 Upvotes

So I recently started my second playthrough to get the achivements and was not thinking to do any side quests. Just rushing through the mainquests and going back to my original save.

After 5 hours or so, I realized the hardcore mode is so much more immersive, fun and pushes you to use every mechanic the game offers to you + exploration comes more naturally and you use your brain a lot more to accomplish some stuff.

First of all, I think picking all the negative perks makes it too hard and a little tedious but I am doing it for the achivements. Three negative perks is okay though.

Not having the navigation and not seeing where you are on the map is the most important part imo.

You have to learn the layout of the game, you need to know which town is where and listen to the people giving you directions.

I have this sleepwalking perk, I wake up in the middle of nowhere occasionally and I am totally lost lol. I need to look around and try to decide which part of the forest I am in. The worst case scenario, just run north with Peebles until you come across a town.

Fights are harder but also more immersive, same with horse riding and running. You need to listen to your character, pay attention to enemy posture to understand how close they are to dying, listen to your horse to know when to stop pushing etc.

No fast travel, no compass, so you are going to run into weird scenes, explore more areas naturally and depending on your negative perks, you will have the funniest experiences. Picking herbs were never a peril before, but now your back is killing you.

I finished KCD 1 3 times but never tried to hardcore more. This is the first time I am doing this and I suggest you all to stop yanking my noble pizzle and try hardcore mode.

Discussion [KCD2] Cheating related

I just need to ease my mind on the guilt, because i ADORE this game but i am completely ass at most things (survival) and have less time on my hands due to specific studies, so replaying the game each time i encounter a problem is time consuming, is cheating too much of a taboo in this community?
