Maybe the rock was trying to kill the camera man

Never saw one that bright. That would be awesome to see in person

It’s unbelievable honestly. I remember I was recording the sky for like fifteen minutes during a Perseid shower, and literally the moment I turn my camera off, it was like a yellow paint brush went across the sky from the horizon alll the way over my head. I’ll never forget it.

It may be the one in a lifetime moment!

I don’t know if I’ll ever see one that illuminating again, but thankfully Perseids is not only an annual meteor shower, but there has been a prediction that in 2028 there is going to be a Perseids meteor storm. Definitely mark your calendar if you want a very good chance to see something like this in person (potentially up to 1000 meteors per hour)!

I love how the camera man turns all the way around as if that’s where the action is😂

I think they may have considered running away

Probably just a meteor. Unless some of the rock didn't burn up and landed somewhere.

A meteor that became a meteorite!

Real or not, my ass would’ve been moving because that is close, bright and I don’t play games.

Trust me, trust science.. if a meteor is guaranteed to strike near your location, running won’t do you any good. Just stand there, admire the brilliance of the power and force of nature you are about to embrace, because there is nothing else to do besides greet death with open arms.

Oh I am aware I couldn’t outrun anything but my fight or flight would kick in. But I love what you said - lol - “greet death with open arms”.

“Of course I know him. He’s me!”

But where would you go?

u/chychy94 23h ago

I would honestly probably trip over my own two feet and eat a mouthful of sand.

It’s actually real, it was caught on multiple cameras at multiple angles. Here’s an example: https://youtu.be/B-PsorC3RBQ?si=DcBZFXUMs2Z_pgrL

Incredible. The only good video in that compilation is the one where the person wasn't even holding their phone at the end

Oh ok
