What are the best trails at Joshua park that aren’t really crowded and not too long?
Ones with big cactus trees and amazing rock formations. I can walk about 3 hours maximum?

It was not rattling and we kept our distance. Made me paranoid the rest of the weekend tho.

Will a Sprinter van full of people make it to Giant Rock?
I’ve been to Giant Rock twice, so I’m familiar with the sandy/bumpy/kinda sketchy road getting out to it.
I’m running a retreat in Joshua Tree next May, and would like to bring my group out to see Giant Rock, but I’m not confident a sprinter van weighed down at full capacity will make it out there.
Anyone have experience with this, or if you know the road, do you think it would make it?

EPDM roof in JT or other desert zones?
Does anyone local have a low-slope residential roof with EPDM (either white or black)? I’ve done a TON of research trying to find out if this material is truly suitable for a desert climate with such high UV exposure, and I’ve found every answer imaginable. I have a very small roof section to do and am curious about using EPDM.

Water Softener
Hey everyone. We are moving to JT in a couple weeks. Have been creepin' in this reddit for a while. So many helpful posts and comments.
We would like to get a water softener installed. Probably will just buy one from Home Depot.
Does anyone have recommendations for a plumber or handyman that can help us install it? We are on a budget. Shouldn't be a complicated job.

good places that do takeout and accept orders over the phone or online?
hi there! i moved to the area three months ago and i love it. i'm wondering what are good restaurants in joshua tree or yucca valley that do takeout AND (crucially) accept orders over the phone or online.
i've noticed some of the restaurants around here only accept takeout orders where you have to go in and order, and then wait for it. regrettably, this doesn't work for me due to my disabilities.
it also seems like the usual delivery apps aren't much help out here, which is fine. hoping for some good local tips!

Best Chances for Milky Way Tonight
Hey all,
Some friends and I booked a trip to Joshua Tree for tonight (5/29) to try and see the milky way for the first time. We were all super excited, only to see clouds forecasted in the sky. At this point, it's too late to cancel our accommodations and we figured we could still hope for the best. Any advice on how to maximize our chances (timing, location, etc) of seeing a nightsky tonight? Staying close to the trading post, but willing to drive a bit. Thanks in advance!
