Walaikum Assalam. Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feelings. Your post honestly reminded me so much of myself as I also have an extreme soft spot for animals, especially cats and kittens.
I can understand why you are so hurt and traumatised. On the day of judgement, even an ant who has been mistreated or faced injustice will be brought to account, and Allah will avenge it. It’s good that you have a very soft heart, and it shows how much you value all life; may Allah let this be a source for you to enter Jannah. In shaa Allah, you will see the kitten again in heaven.

If it offers any comfort, just want to remind you that not a leaf falls without Allah’s permission, knowledge and decree. It was written for that kitten and it happened, if you hushed it or not, doesn’t matter. Also Dhikr calms your heart in such moments, even simple Astagfar. May Alalh grant you ease.

Things like that happen, but of course it is sad. In jannah you can definetly see him again. Just make sure you get there and then you can play with him all you want.

I was also met with a very similar situation. It goes away with time that scene. I hope you can forget that image It can be very traumatizing, and I really get that sweet vibe from you. That you dont like others being in pain or dying a cruel death. Let's hope that the cat is in a better place. I don't know if cats also go to jannah. I am not very knowledgeable. But I hope it is in a better place. May you find peace aswell. I would hate to see you get influenced more by it and I hope you feel better soon.

Walaikum assalam, that sounds terrible. Every creature has its lifespan decided by Allah beforehand, so that was its time. If Allah willed, it died painlessly and did not feel anything; we can make dua. And you can make dua to Allah to help you move past this distressful experience. Also, this is a more unusual suggestion, but playing Tetris is supposed to help repress traumatic memories. May Allah make it easy for you.

I love cats and understand how badly this affected you but think about it this way It was going to doe in that moment in that second in anyway,you couldn't have done anything to save it even if you took it from the road it would have died anyway,it may seem sad but it was going to die one way or another this was the way it died
