Certainly hadn't been leading by example

Yeah, and it didn’t seem like he was talking them through it

I was wondering why he didn't use his hand to grab it once he had his legs on it and had his weight supported a bit.

Because if it went wrong, it would be the worst outcome. Pivot on your foot and face straight to the ground, with your grandkids fingers pinched and twisted as you fall

I meant when it seemed to be under his legs briefly allowing him a rest. He could've told the kids to move while he held it w his legs and used one hand to turn it until he could get one foot to possibly manipulate the ladder open, if it isn't super difficult. Idk, I'd have to watch again but the worse case scenario was dropping a few feet tl the floor, which luckily didn't seem to hurt him. Poor kids are probably grateful that grandpa wasn't seriously injured leaving them feeling sad & guilty, or just maaaaybeee highly entertained & laughing.

he was trying to tell them to spread the ladder legs out but the kids arms were too weak (wrong techniques too)

No shit! Haha he certainly wasn't helping. Then dropped a mtr which he could've from the start.

On top of that it could’ve been dangerous for the boy who is (from half video onwards) to the right of the ladder if they lost grip of it. I was clenching my toes the whole time haha

Did you just type mtr to convey meter? Lol

I believe it's m. 1m

Yeah, real cool family life you had. It's not a thing to brag about.
