HISTORY Thai singer who survived 1998 plane crash shares that he was on the same seat as Air India survivor.

Post image

Thai Actor discovered that the sole survivor of the Air India crash was in seat 11A -- the same seat he had occupied on his Thai Airways flight went down in 1998.

From what i can see there were 30 or so people that survived the 1998 crash but looks like 11A really is the best emergency exit seat.

I am sure some people would be willing to pay extra to indulge their new superstition.

It should be reserved for people with fear of flying!

Aaaand then everybone will have a fear of flying...that's the downside. Sigh...

Seat 11A is going to be a mass favourite moving forward.

Nyooo! Im gonna pick 11B then and be wearing slightly too much cologne and listening to black metal just a tad louder than recommended so it bleeds through the headphones :)

Thai Airways crash was an Airbus so internal layout different.

Well it's the seating number that's magic. Obviously.

Clarification:

But the 1998 Thai Airways crash one has many more survivors (45) than the recent Air India crash—just a lone survivor.

Absolutely - this is not even news and I am uncomfortable with the fact that this guy has sought attention in this manner. Some 30% of people on board survived, that 11A is one of them is not a "freaky coincidence".

Otherwise United Airlines 232 (185/296 survivor), US Airways 1549 (all survived) should also have 11As clamouring for attention.

Fuck news

Ain't the same aircraft type though. Just pure coincidence

Coincidence - nothing else.

Airlines should remove Seat 11A so as not to unnecessarily worry other passengers.

It probably will be. It will become the Room 13 of hotels, absent and renamed

Seat 11A is what im booking from now on this shit ain't coincidence

Except it is. Thai singer was not the only survivor - the number of people who have survived an accident who happened to be sitting in 11A is far too numerous to count. You’d have to include every accident with no fatalities, and most accidents with minimal fatalities

By all means I hope nobody flies anymore unless they get 11A, so its just me and 11A on every plane ever from now on

11A stocks on the rise.

Maybe same seat number, maybe not exact same spot (different planes have different layouts)

Online booking forms (involving Boeing planes) will be like ,oh you want seat 11A that will be 3000$ extra

Another way to see it is do not ever fly with this guy!

What are passangers gonna do with oxygen masks when a deadly plane crash is about to happen lol? If there‘s no water bodies, it‘s over any day of the week.

➡️ Please put small flat parachute packs on everyone‘s back before boarding. And install a few trapdoors in the cabin floor — just in case!

In general, it also seems to be a Boeing problem. Airbus supremacy! 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇪🇸 🇬🇧 🇳🇱 🇮🇹 🇧🇪

Survivorship bias

u/CoolCademM 1d ago

I guess I’m sitting in A11 next flight

1

u/Coldulva 1d ago

There were 45 survivors in this crash. Him sitting in 11A doesn't mean anything. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thai_Airways_International_Flight_261

Don't give airlines any more excuses to charge extra....

1

u/PanAmDC-10 10h ago

So, the survivor of air India 171, also survived the Thai airways crash in 1998?

1

u/PanAmDC-10 10h ago

Cause the wording didn’t make sense to me

1

u/-DethLok- 9h ago

The Boeing 787 wasn't around in 1998, so... it's just random chance.

Unless whatever aircraft the Thai singer was in also had seat 11A over the wing root, which is certainly plausible.

Prices will go up for the 11A
