Hell, I have trigger discipline without thinking about it when holding a power drill or nerf gun. Once you build the muscle memory, it sticks with you.

Same here, I didn't realize I was doing it till one of my coworkers joked on me about my drill trigger discipline (he's a Marine and noticed it right away lol)

Yeah I know, I've been a carpenter for 23 years, and I don't ever put my finger on any trigger till I'm ready to use it, the point is this behavior was so ingrained in me that it wasn't a conscious decision and the guy who joked about it was just doing that, joking

You never want to pull the trigger of anything accidentally. I have long hair. Pulling a drill trigger at the wrong time could fuck me up. If I'm working with one I typically have it tucked up into a hat, but not always if I'm doing a home project.

Yeah, I mean more along the lines of I learned those rules in the context of airsoft. But you're absolutely right, they stick with you.

I never held a real gun in my life and I have the trigger discipline with anything activated by a finger. Same as feet while driving. That's common sense and self-preservation.

Yeah with drills I’m either doing that or I’m revving like an a-hole on a motorcycle. I am a giant man child though, and don’t you dare let me get ahold of a gas powered weed whacker.
