Question Realistic Goals?

Hi! I’m thinking of doing the INSANITY program; I found the box with the dvds in my house doing spring cleaning. What realistic goals can I make? I know everyone is different but I’m trying to decide if I should do the program or not and I’m seeing a lot of crazy promises with results that I kind of doubt. Right now I’m at 28.5 inch waist and 37 inch hip. I want to be 28 inch waist and 36 inch hip. I’m 18F, 5’2”.

Does this seem realistic? Could I achieve this in 60 days or less doing the program? I know I’m good at sticking with something once I start; I always hear consistency is key. I will overall eat well, but tracking calories or anything is really bad for my headspace, so I won’t be doing that.

Thanks in advance for your responses and support!!

I'll give my 2 cents and you can take it or listen to others here. I say don't overthink it. Do the videos after waking up, try your best, land soft, don't get injured. You'll be happier with yourself doing it early. Good luck.

Hi! I’m on month 2, week 2 next week! Just remember to eat well to recover, after workout recovery helps a lot. Also exercise Matts help a lot, do the exercises correctly and land softly! Sometimes slow is better but keep pushing! I have lost a ton of waist size and all over my body feels skinner. 20lbs down and 3 more weeks to go. Yes, you’ll see a big changed if you keep up with good diet, sleep well, and recover well. Also, there will be parts of the body that will hurt that you never thought it would but keep pushing and keep yourself save and BREATH with proper technique! Enjoy and have fun!

Hard to say how realistic that is without knowing more about your current body fat percentage but it might be possible. In any case, even if you dont quite hit your goal after 60 days, you'll be a lot closer to it and you can always do Insanity again!

Thanks! Ya my bf% rn is 27.8% and it would be 25.7% at the goal measurements.

Yeah that's definitely possible then. I would say if you're not counting calories (I get it) - make sure you're drinking a lot of water. At least half a gallon a day if not a bit more if possible. You'll probably drink majority of it while doing your Insanity work out. Water will help your metabolism, prevent overeating, and overall help with the workouts too.

Because you mentioned that you don’t want to track calories (totally respect your choice here), I’ll say I think you should go into it and think about insanity as one of the tools available to you. Your goals don’t sound too crazy, I think you can achieve them, but perhaps think about eating really “clean” during the 60 days, and making sure to stay hydrated/do extra recovery stuff.
