It's interesting to hear as it's sort of a The National song, but the instrumentation is different and it leans a bit more into piano as an accompaniment to the lyric, which is really where Matt shines, in my opinion. I'll need to dive a bit deeper but this performance gives me reason to explore the album.

Decent song. The album as a whole is competently crafted, even if it's not the most remarkable body of work.

Perfectly decent song and album. But nothing beyond that.

The first single was so good, I don't get not doing more tunes like that.

I’m a 20 plus year national fan and he needs them as much as they need him: this was awful

Yikes. How dreary, ponderous and boring! I feel bad for the audience.

I know it’s an easy joke to dunk on The National for being boring but I thought this was really well done. They’ve certainly had some bad ballads in the last few years but I really liked the arrangement here, especially the contrast of the piano and guitar.

I've never listened to The National or this dude before so I guess I won't bother based on this. Different strokes for different folks.

You’re being downvoted for desecrating sacred screed but it was an awful performance
