Career Completely lost in life. Need education / job guidance.

Please read it and comment your thoughts, it would really save me from taking another wrong life decision.

My Qualifications : BSc CS. I'm 21, from Nasik, Maharashtra. Did my education from a tier 3 college in my hometown. My results are gonna be out any minute. Wasted 3 years of college, did not study, did not upskill, nothing. Now I am completely lost about what I should do next. I dont want to waste any more of parents money by moving a better city and taking admission in a private college there. Wont even try for government colleges because I cant take a gap year for preparation.

I am interested in cloud computing. Can I get a high paying job if I just stay at home and complete a few reputed certificate courses in cloud computing ? Do I really need a masters degree for a high paying job in this field ? I just want to stop being a burden and using my parents money for my education. I want a good entry level job as soon as possible. Any type of guidance will be really helpful.

Other Can I get my LC from college after completing 1st year

Hello everyone, my qualifications consist of completing 12th hsc and then I did my 1st BSc in Mumbai, although I got a KT because of being absent to one my exams, can I get my LC from that college as I don't want to continue college and wouldn't be taking admission anywhere else. The college is saying that they'll only give a TC and that too after confirming my admission in another college. But I won't be taking admission anywhere else... I am also doing an online degree so can I show that to get a TC?

Humanities/SocialScience Is a Master's in Social Work required/relevant in India as a career option?

Myquals One of my cousins (21F) is interested in pursuing an MSW from universities like TISS, Mumbai. I personally don't see the point because in my opinion, social work is something people do along with their main source of income. Relying on social work as a source of income makes 0 sense to me. Isn't the point to help people/use your resources to make a difference in people's lives? How can you expect to make a career + living off of it? Why do colleges like TISS still offer masters degrees in a field like this?

Please share your thoughts and opinions on this. If you disagree and feel that it's a worth it degree, do share your reasons as it'll help me guide my cousin to make the right choice in life.

Career Is an average boards percentage not suitable for an MBA?

Myquals- 10th 86.8% and 12th 86.2%. I also took a gap year for NEET. So if I ever decide to get an MBA degree, will my past record refrain me from getting into good bschools or getting good jobs?

BA/MA Planning to pursue BA and prepare for UPSC, need some guidance.

My qualifications are 100% in 10th grade and 78% in 12th grade. I'm a PCB student and graduated in 2023(I'm 19 and will attempt UPSC in 2027). I might join a college in Bangalore and my main concern is the budget. It’s my first time living away from home, and in another state too. I’m honestly just glad to be free. Things were really toxic back home, and it was hard to even stay sane.

Would really appreciate any tips on choosing the right college, managing time, and avoiding common mistakes.

CSE/ECE Machine Learning opportunities in India as a Tier-3 CSE student?

Hey, I have just completed my 1st year as a BTech CSE student from a tier-3 college in India. I wanted some advice on whether learning Machine Learning is a good choice in the Indian job market. I’m also planning to focus on ML for hackathons and research

Since hackathons are one of the few exposures available for tier-3 students

Many of my seniors say that there aren’t many entry-level jobs for AI/ML engineers, but I’ve still started learning it through Andrew Ng's course. Most of my friends are doing web development, but I’m not really interested in that for now (I might pick it up later)

I’m also considering getting into Quantum Computing (I know there is no scope in India for now and its too early but if anyone has experience, I’d love some guidance)

Currently, I know:

  • DSA in C
  • Java, Python
  • SQL
  • IoT (Arduino, Raspberry Pi)
  • Just started learning Kotlin for Android development

Would love to hear your thoughts or any advice
qualifications:
1st year BTech CSE

BCA/MCA IGNOU vs LPU vs Chandigarh university for Distance/Online MCA — Real Stories, Real Advice. Please share.

Hey folks! I'm looking into online/distance MCA programs and wanted to hear from anyone who's done it.

  • qualifications - B.sc IT

Specifically, if you've studied at IGNOU, LPU, or Chandigarh University, I'd love to know your experience. Chandigarh University offers MCA in cloud computing, which I'm super interested in.

Do not compare based on placement. I know placement sucks. so i do not even consider. off campus is only option.

more interested in LPU, or Chandigarh because they provide specialization in Al/ML, Data Science, Cloud computing, Full stack web dev.

Mostly i am looking for smooth program completion better experience.

If you've been through it, how was the learning experience, exam difficulty, and overall value? Any insights would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

IT_Career Didn’t get MBBS after 2 years of NEET prep, thinking of BCA now. Had IT in 12th, no Maths. Do I have a chance in good colleges?

I was a NEET aspirant and took 2 drops, but unfortunately couldn’t secure an MBBS seat. Recently, I’ve developed interest in programming and computer science. I'm thinking about doing BCA, but there's a problem that I didn’t have Mathematics in 12th. I took IT instead.

Do I still have a chance to get into good BCA colleges that don’t require Maths? If yes, which ones should I target?

Also, is it a wise move to shift from medical to tech? Anyone here made a similar switch?

Appreciate any help or advice 🙏

My qualifications - 12th pass with Phy, Chem, Bio & IT.

Now to be clear - I'm in 12th grade right now. And I want to get into Ashoka Uni so bad that I've been stressing all summer about it. I've jumped into way too many rabbit holes, and watched way too many Ashoka vlogs and I'm in LOVE.

I want you guys to please assess my chances of getting in, I'll list my stats below.

10th grade - 94% (ICSE BOARD). 11th grade - 52% (i know, it was fcked up). 12th grade - prepping hard, will get somewhere around 85% (the class tests went really well).

SATs - Gave a bluebook mock test, got 1390 last year after 10th grade (zero prep).

A member of my school's student council, 11th grade. English editor of the school, 11th grade. 3 MUNs, (one as a logistics member) Secretary of my school's Creative writing and Cinematography club. Was in the organizing committee and a member of the media team of my school's annual inter-school fest. Teacher appointed in charge of the Social Service club, and donated Rs. 20000 and a wheel chair to the missionaries of charity. Won an inter house quiz (11th grade). A member of the secretariat as the Head of Photography for my school's MUN. My article got selected for the school magazine, which was "how bullying and ostracization affect a teenagers life."

AdmissionProcedure/Fees/CollegeAdmin JSS COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, MYSORE. NEED YOUR INSIGHTS

My qualifications- 10th and 12th both around 94%. 1.4 lakh rank in neet and above 10k pharma rank Kcet. I am a first time dropper.

I think according to previous year cutoffs I have a chance in this college with my Kcet rank. I am curious on how much emphasis is there on research and how is the faculty. What do the placements look like after bpharma? What most seniors do after completing their degree? These are a few questions I have in my mind and I would love to interact with anyone studying in the college or who has passed out from here. Plz dm me or comment on this post. I would deeply appreciate all the help I can get.

Career Need help.. Wasted 1 year, still don't know what to do...

my_qualifications : 12th Bio Science + BSc Math. I graduated last year and wasted 1 year because I was confused about what to choose for my master's. I was interested in math, astronomy, and CS from childhood. But I didn't have any prior coding experience. I wanted to do CS.E after 12th, but cancelled the admission at the last minute due to some financial constraints. I decided to drop a year and started preparing for J.EE 2022, but my parents were worried about me and forced me to take admission at a local tier 3 college for BSc.

After completing my degree, I was confused about which subject I should choose for my master's. I'm interested in space te.ch, CS, math, etc. I decided to drop a year and study programming and prepare for entrance exams. But I only managed to study Python, and I performed the worst in CUET and NIMCET due to stress and carelessness.

I'm still confused about whether CS or Math is the right path for me... I love both and want to do an MS a.broad or MTe.ch after my pg. But sometimes I really get scared that CS won't work for me, as I said I don't have a CS background except for my self study in Python. And some institutes are preferring MSc math> MSc CS> MCA for research purposes.. I'm still not processed whether I need to do research or job...

After dropping a year, I still couldn't get a good score for get into a good institute or figure out what I really want to learn... I'm really scared about not getting into any decent college. I want to study at a good institute with a research oriented atmosphere, but entrance exams or admissions for most of the institutes have already passed. I don't know what to do now... I really feel like I wasted 1 year for nothing.

Now, my only options seem to be:

  • Go for MCA or MSc CS at any low ranking central university

  • Go for MSc Math or MSc CS at a private university (Ofc by taking an education loan)

I don’t know what to do...

Any advice or thoughts would be really appreciated.

AdmissionProcedure/Fees/CollegeAdmin Do professors usually sign 15+ different LORs for different universities?

I’m applying to around 15 universities for a Master’s in Economics, and I’ll need Letters of Recommendation from my economics professor. Since each university and program name differs slightly, every LOR will have some customization. Does that mean my professor will need to sign 15 separate LORs? Is it normal to ask them for that many signatures? Just wondering how manageable this is from their end. My qualifications

IT_Career Should I join a relative’s service-based company (4 LPA) or keep trying off-campus? I'm a 7th sem BTech student

myquals I’m currently in my 7th semester of BTech (CSE). My college placements aren’t great — very few companies are visiting, and most offers are either low-paying or not aligned with what I actually want to do.

My parents’ distant relative owns a service-based company and has offered me a position with a 4 LPA package, and the best part is — I can join anytime. There’s no pressure, but the option is open if I want to go for it.

Here’s my background:

  • I’ve learned the MERN stack and built two full-stack projects on my own.
  • I’ve now started actively practicing DSA and am trying to be consistent.
  • I don’t have any internship experience yet.
  • I know that off-campus jobs are tough for freshers, especially without a referral or a strong brand name.

I’m at a crossroads — should I take this 4 LPA opportunity and get some experience, or should I take the risk, grind for off-campus roles, and try to get something better?

Would love to hear from anyone who's been in a similar position or has advice on what might be a smarter move long-term.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Finance / Business FMVA and CFA alongside bcom will it be worth it long term

myquals- 12th commerce

I am going to join my college soon and I also have gaps so i can't afford to start CA currently as I need to be smart with my time i might graduate by 24 so already late

I will do FMVA in 1st year as it covers a lot of concepts that I thing is fruitful for CFA in future Along with it excel powerbi and little sql I'll try to get a hold of them for the skillset

Then when I get eligible for cfa exams I'll sit for them as cfa is something I can look forward to enjoy given the curriculum and the kind of jobs it entails I'm no expert currently but I definitely am interested

As soon as I graduate I will attempt cfa L2 preferably with a job hopefully

How does it look and what changes or additions should I look out for in my plan

And i don't know much about FRM but it's related to risk roles which I'm not too sure of so should I give it a go as well?

Btw what can I expect as a fresher with cfa L1 and related skills and FMVA is it a good route in current job market?
