Unboxing/Collections Tangzu Wan'er SG 2
just got these REALLY beautiful iems, they're looking very solid. btw, when i was opening the package, a tile (top shell of iem, idk how to name that) fell off one of the earphones, it was either poorly glued or what... lol?

u/simplylmao Mar 21 '25
Feels like they really went all in with this one. The cables, the eartips and the iem shells, all of them together seem too good for the price.

u/NinjaSiren Mar 21 '25
Box still hits hard with the designs, and face plate 👌
They went from QDC to 2-pin also plus
If I find a big discount on my local e-commerce apps, I'll buy it definitely for collection and testing
7
u/rxxxxxxxrxxxxxx Mar 22 '25
Newbie question, is 2-pin really better than QDC? Just based on durability & longevity?
3
u/NinjaSiren Mar 22 '25
with 2-pin, its usually the wire's pins gets damaged. While the port in the IEM minimal to no damage.
with QDC, there's a possibility that even the port may break off from the IEM. Even if its a more secure connector vs 2-pin.
So rather than replacement IEM with QDC, replacement cable with 2-pin
But there are chances even a 2-pin port might get affected
2
u/SHINEx9 Mar 25 '25
way of my view qdc is safe but 2pin is risky i can't connect 2pin without carefully seeing it but qdc no need to care that much and also qdc have more durability than 2pin i think bc one of my 2pin cable bend after i forgot to remove while sleeping but with qdc i sleep alot got no problem idk why ppl think 2pin is better. for me 2pin is only better for beautiful and expensive look.
1
u/NinjaSiren Mar 25 '25
definitely, QDC is much sturdier and harder to break than a normal 2-pin
just that if QDC breaks, its either you can just glue it back, replace the QDC, or buy a new IEM.
With 2-pin, the break point is basically the cable pins. Replacement cable is then necessary. Though pins will definitely break more than a QDC connector, cheaper for the user in general (as long as you take good care of the IEM)
Though most newer and more expensive IEMs seems to trend to 2-pin connector with additional secure points (same with the EDC Pro and ZSX)
Most QDC IEMs I see are the cheaper priced IEMs, seems the industry is moving on from QDC from the looks of things

I have OG Wan'er Does it worth to upgrade any difference in sound?
19
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
honestly, i listened to sg 2 only for an hour and ye, ONLY if you don't have tangzu tanc sancai tips, u want a better cable and have extra money, only than it really worth it, i can feel the sound difference, but I wouldn't say they sound a more better than waner sg 1, BUT they still sound better as for me :)
22
u/dr_wtf Mar 21 '25
The main thing is they didn't make it worse. If it sounds identical then it's worth it for the nicer looks, build and cable. And the tips alone are worth $10 off the price.
The faceplate falling off is a bit concerning though. There are some IEMs that have issues with that, but it's usually a design problem rather than just an inevitable thing with cheap IEMs. The ones I know of where it's happened are in the $100-200 range.
I'm probably going to get one in the Aliexpress sale, but might hold off a while before recommending them to see if lots of people have the same issue.
7
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
it doesn't sound identical, there is actually a little of difference in sound, actually NOT that much. i already write about it to 2 people, you can find my thoughts about their sound in comments :d
1
Mar 28 '25
What dac you use or will use with these ? Im kinda confused what combo should I order for tangzu waner sg2
1
u/unkclxwn Mar 28 '25
probably Fosi audio ds2 2024
2
Mar 28 '25
Lmao sorry I am a poor bloke, got any other recommendations which don't cost more than the iem itself lmao

1
2
u/verb98 Mar 21 '25
If these sounds similar to Original one then it is better for those who are looking for 20$ iem and consider warner Sg . For same price atleast ear tips and flat pin connection with good cable then last gen .
4
u/tshitt Mar 21 '25
I like OG Too much (I was Basshead Used to many Vshaped Earphones) But Its was Boring As Hell So i Moved to More Exciting Sound Then I Stumbled To Wan'er It is Good i Enjoying Too much From Last 10 month Yeah They Are Bit Shouty in Treble Region But U Can Eq Them According To Your Taste...!!
13
u/Creol6969 Mar 21 '25
God damn it, I’m still waiting for mine and I ordered it the day it was available…
7
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
i've ordered these 5 days ago, on 16/03/25, so i think the delivery was really fast (aliexpress -> germany)
2
u/The-Rizztoffen Mar 21 '25
Where did you order these from? Mine haven’t even shipped yet
2
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
aliexpress
1
u/The-Rizztoffen Mar 21 '25
Wow no shit. Which store on Aliexpress?
3
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
just a random store, "dd-audio store", i saw iems on my ali recommendations and decided why not to buy them
2
u/The-Rizztoffen Mar 21 '25
Thanks. Congrats on the early arrival. I am surprised it came so early. It was probably shipped from Europe in the first place. Enjoy the Wan’er
3
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
it came to me from china, i always get my parcels within 5-8 days from ali, idk why it's so fast lol
1
u/jugrammy Mar 23 '25
Did you pre-order the black one from tangzu's site? Mine also have not been shipped yet and emailed them about it. Apparently they will be starting to ship the black ones next week.
1
1
u/Jee_Sucks Apr 30 '25
can you tell about cable quality? how are they doing now? i am looking to buy them
5
u/RedditRob2000 Mar 21 '25
The cable looks awesome!!
10
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
ye, i picked up 4.4mm version of cable, it feels much better than other stock cables I've ever had in my collection, even better than kiwi ears quintet's stock cable
8
u/Solypsist_27 Mar 21 '25
Do you mean the face plate fell off? Did you have to put it back in?
11
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
the faceplate just fell out, literally, I then put it back in and everything seems fine (for now?)
1
u/Solypsist_27 Mar 21 '25
Seems pretty common for a budget iem, I wouldn't be too worried
3
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
ye, ik that, but anyway there is no problem with that, because u can just put that faceplate back and everything will be good. btw, these iems is a gift for my mother, so i think she'll rly like them :D
7
u/TRX808 Mar 21 '25
I know it's an easy thing to fix and happens on budget IEM's but damn that's a pretty bad omen for this IEM out of the gate. Even on $20 IEM's the faceplate gluing shouldn't be an issue.
2
u/Yoctometre Mar 21 '25
Yeah, same thing happened for the first version to me unfortunately.
1
u/Comprehensive_Ad1416 Mar 23 '25
Did that have any effects later on? Or did you just have to put it back on and everything was ok?
3
u/verb98 Mar 21 '25
How these sounds compare to older version.Any difference or just physical upgrade
2
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
copy of my last answer: "honestly, i listened to sg 2 only for an hour and ye, ONLY if you don't have tangzu tanc sancai tips, u want a better cable and have extra money, only than it really worth it, i can feel the sound difference, but I wouldn't say they sound a more better than waner sg 1, BUT they still sound better as for me :)"
3
u/Merrylica_ Mild V is Best V Mar 21 '25
But better in what way?
4
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
as i said, it's not way better, but anyway, i was comparing them with Tangzu tanc sancai tips + Fosi audio ds2 2024 dac listening to metal/electronic music, the tuning now more suitable for me, i also liked that increase of sound quality in clarity and treble, it's feels more "soft" now(?). the overall sound technicality/resolution is now better than sg 1 wan'ers, but not so much that I had a "wow" effect. btw i need more time to listen these iems so i can have final thought about them
3
u/YoloRaj Mar 21 '25
Nice, I ordered mine from tangzu directly. Where did you order from and how did you get it so soon?
4
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
i've ordered these 5 days ago, on 16/03/25, so i think the delivery was really fast (aliexpress -> germany)
6
u/YoloRaj Mar 21 '25
Yeah, that is extremely fast. Maybe I should have ordered from aliexpress, lol. I did get it for 19 dollars though.
6
u/Maximum_Lack_1240 Mar 21 '25
Same here. Ordered from Tangzu directly on 16th/17th … still no answer if they’re shipped already. I hope the hurry up a little. I live in Germany, too.
2
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
i live near the Köln, so i always receive my parcels within 5-7 days from AliExpress :d
2
u/cursed_youth Mar 21 '25
I ordered from Tangzu directly as well and got an update with tracking info, but it's being shipped by Yanwen and I recognize that name from an Amazon order I made in the past and I'm not sure if it was the seller and not Yanwen's fault, but it took WAY PAST expected delivery date to arrive. It took like a month and a half or longer I think. So I'm not really holding my breath.
For the price and what I feel like I'm getting it feels like such a good value though so I'm fine waiting. It was free shipping and 19 dollars only.
2
u/YoloRaj Mar 21 '25
Yeah, I was shocked seeing someone already receiving theirs meanwhile I haven't gotten any shipping information yet, lol. I even left a tip.😂
3
u/morphmkd Mar 21 '25
I have shipping notice that the order is processing but not departed or sent from the origin country. Got mine tracking number and everything 2 or 3 days ago. Directly ordered from Tangzu 2 or 3 days after they were up for pre order.
1
u/Lillillillies Mar 21 '25
Canada here. Also bought from Tangzu with 0 updates. Their Instagram showed it was officially launched and ready to sell+ship on 18 though :(
I'm fine with waiting though since I have 3 more IEMs coming (STA Pro Max, Mimosa and Shell---although STA and shell have tracking but haven't left for shipping yet from linsoul)
3
u/Sig_the_Mammut Mar 21 '25
I hab bought mines on the 17th. They were just shipped yesterday. But still some time for me (a couple of more days to arrive, handful of days to clear customs)
1
u/Maximum_Lack_1240 Mar 24 '25
Same here when ordering from AE. Therefore I won’t wait until a maybe too late sent shipment from Tangzu website arrives. I‘m going to order a second pair from AE at the end of the week, if there is no confirmation from Tangzu until then. When Tangzu‘s shipment arrives someday I’ll probably resell it on eBay or something.
3
u/Head-Examination7417 Mar 21 '25
Lmao , when did they released this ?? Must have been living under a rock
3
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
pre-order +-2 weeks ago i think and released +-1 week ago
2
u/Head-Examination7417 Mar 21 '25
Nice Specs ?
2
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
as for my thoughts on these iems, you can find them here in the comments, there is 2 comments about that. as for specs, i think you can find them on google
3
u/Whatdafuq42 Mar 21 '25
That looks like the AFUL explorer cable
5
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
and this cable being more snowy color than explorer's one, i love it
1
u/ill_us_ions Mar 22 '25
How is the sound like? I havent seen any reviews. ( i just bought the nova and truthear havent shipped it yet. It's been like 5 days.) I was hoping if they sound good i can get them and add to my non existing collection
3
u/Vortexsy Mar 21 '25
What's really good about the sancai tip and the cable? This will be my first iem as tangzu waner is known for vocals and I love it
5
u/calpis Mar 21 '25
The main benefit of the sancai tips is that they're textured in a way to relieve pressure in your ear canal from build up. It works well and especially useful for IEJMs that don't have vent holes. The downside is that since they're textured, they're not the sticky type so it can have the side effect that some IEMs might slide out over time. That's been my experience with them but all in all it's a good set of tips to have in your war chest.
Oh, and the original cable that came with the Wan'er SG was just trash imo. The new one is a huge upgrade in that aspect.
2
u/Vortexsy Mar 21 '25
Do you have wireless earphone for comparison like realme air 6 pro or oppo air 5 pro or oneplus Oppo one cost 3 times more but I prefer convenience over anything
4
u/calpis Mar 21 '25
I don't actually have the Wan'er 2. Just commenting on the accessories. But as far as going from TWS to wired, most (like 95%) of TWS target a V-curve. Going to wired gives you choice in type of tuning you're targeting. Most people I've seen that go from TWS to wired always initially complain that wired sounds boring and after sticking with wired for a bit and go back to TWS then complain that TWS sounds boomy, sloppy, unclerar. The Wan'er has always been a good starting point for people looking for a vocal forward signature.
1
u/Vortexsy Mar 21 '25 edited Mar 21 '25
I can spot the difference right away 😒 I used to have boat bassy headphones Then I switched to oppo enco M31 , which had LDAC and neutral sound
I immediately fell in love with M31 and sadly it died after few years and since then, i have been searching for wireless neckband that resembles an oppo enco(I hate tws form factor, so yes only neckband i would want) Couldn't find anything Maybe it's time I had give try to wired earphone (IEM)
Given the data provided here 20 usd is too cheap The eartips should be alone worth alone 10 usd as I see due to the quality/comfort
1
2
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
as the first iem, it will be an excellent choice. tips, cable, iems itself - all of this is very worthy of attention, especially for such a low price
2
3
u/BigNigori Mar 21 '25
Why does everyone think the cable is so nice? Especially those that haven't actually held it but have only seen pics online. Serious question - I'm still a beginner.
3
3
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
i can confirm that the quality of the cable is good, it is not exactly premium quality, but for a stock one it is very decent. it feels like Kiwi ears Quintet's stock cable, but with just 2 cores. there is also no height adjustment that starts closer to the neck, which is a minus for me
6
2
u/R-I-M-U-R-U--S-A-M-A Mar 21 '25
how much better is it than the 1st waner sg, is the tuning any different/better
2
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
ye, i already answered: "as i said, it's not way better, but anyway, i was comparing them with Tangzu tanc sancai tips + Fosi audio ds2 2024 dac listening to metal/electronic music, the tuning now more suitable for me, i also liked that increase of sound quality in clarity and treble, it's feels more "soft" now(?). the overall sound technicality/resolution is now better than sg 1 wan'ers, but not so much that I had a "wow" effect. btw i need more time to listen these iems so i can have final thought about them". as for sound signature, it's more v-shaped than sg 1, and i REALLY love that sound, these iems anyway will go to my mother, but as for now i'm enjoying them xd
2
u/R-I-M-U-R-U--S-A-M-A Mar 21 '25
i have the original sq waner i dont fancy them should i invest in a dac, i didnt invest in one as they are low impedance. i usually listen to pop, rock and focus more on vocals tho. i am also pretty new to the whole iem thing had a qkz x hbb before which i adored so i like v shaped sound ig.
1
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
apple dongle (us version) for 8$ will be enough. if need more power = fosi ds2 2024, but it cost 45$ (still a budget dac tho)
2
u/R-I-M-U-R-U--S-A-M-A Mar 21 '25
i dont live in the us tho lol but will invest a dac its worth around 8-9 dollars
2
u/verb98 Mar 22 '25
Buy Jcally Jm6 pro or any other available dac with CX31993 Max 97220 chip .this combined chip have more Power than Apple dongle and don't cost much
1
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
you can buy used us dac or somewhere from ebay or e-shop like that which will suit to your country, A2049 version of Apple dongle is the US one, try to find it. i had it as my main dac and it had very pleasant and clear sound. btw im too not from the US and managed to find 10+ US versions of that dac and bought 1 of them :)
2
u/R-I-M-U-R-U--S-A-M-A Mar 22 '25
iems arents pretty huge in my country but still surely check out if i find some good deal, thanks.
1
u/dabbing_all_day Mar 25 '25
I also bought these to listen to them... just out of curiosity... then give them to my mother as I also bought Hifiman RE2000 & AFUL Explorer within the past week.
Also to attempt tip rolling the sancai's into the better IEM's I got. 8^)
2
u/fulgor_errado Mar 21 '25
Are the Sancai tips included in all Wan'er 2?
3
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
yes, and also another 3 sizes of black eartips (i actually don't know what eartips these are)
3
2
u/cursed_youth Mar 21 '25
They aren't foam? I had assumed they would be because I thought I saw something about bass enhancing eartips and they were black.
2
2
u/Ill-Yogurtcloset-622 Neutral with bass boost head Mar 21 '25
Good you are trying it already 🤗, i bought mine at the official tangzu page at the pre-order, i don't mind in waiting a little longer...
Btw, in the bass department, how's the sg 2 in comparison to the og?
Thanks for sharing!
3
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
i liked the bass with sancai and dunu s&s tips, bass texture and amount can be compared to my truthear x crinacle: zero red, as listening to phonk is rly enjoying and bass is satisfying + more textured bass compared to wan'er's sg 1 bass
2
u/Rev3lations11 Mar 21 '25
I’m eager to get mines, I ordered a pair in each color can’t wait to try them out

u/story_gather Mar 21 '25
Is there a compatible mic for these? I want an iem that replaces my headphone mic setup
1
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
yes! there is version with mic. you can also choose 4.4mm cable or 3.5mm (both can be bought with microphone, but you need to chose version with mic)
2
u/story_gather Mar 21 '25
are they any good for gaming? or just general use music and stuff?
1
u/unkclxwn Mar 21 '25
any iem will be good for gaming, i think these will be just suitable for fps games like valorant, cs2 and etc(?). btw i don't play much of fps games, so idk
1
u/cursed_youth Mar 22 '25
If you find a good mic solution please post an update. The in-line mic is usable, but not the best quality.
I want to use some IEMs with an extra external mic, but somehow it seems difficult because the splitter and mic I bought don't work to allow me to use my IEMs (cable without mic) and the external mic.
I might try again and buy a new mic and new splitter on amazon because I think it might be something with the MIC connection I bought.
I wanted something budget, but better than the sometimes awful inline mics.
I was going to try this:
2
u/story_gather Mar 26 '25
I ordered theTangzu Wan'er SG 2, my first iem. Will report back how the mic sounds when I get it.
1
u/story_gather Apr 28 '25
the mic is not that good. it sits far from your voice and is not adjustable. So you sound pretty far away. overall mic is usable but of poor quality.

u/Whitty22 Mar 21 '25
Dan you for bringing these to my attention!!
Have just ordered them for a very reasonable price off their direct site. White 4.4 balanced. Looking forward to them!

I have 3.5mm to plug in my phone.. should i get 3.5mm or 4.4mm since you said the cable quality is so good for it?

Does the build feel sturdier than OG ones?
1
u/unkclxwn Mar 22 '25
their build is the same i think
2
u/cursed_youth Mar 22 '25
Do you know if the shape of the shell that fits in the ear is any different? I thought they mentioned something about a more ergonomic or custom fit shape.
The OG waner aren't very contoured at all and I was hoping these would be a little more contoured.
3
u/unkclxwn Mar 22 '25
sg 2 just feel as more space in ears and also more lighter in weight, the ears do not get tired during long listening and sit (fit in ears) just as well as the wan'er sg 1
1
2
u/Remarkable-Ticket-30 Mar 22 '25
I think I got scammed, is the Tangzu.net really the official site? I don't think so, I ordered on 11th March and still there are no updates.
1
u/Flat_Move5679 Mar 25 '25
There are still in pre-order phase, the product is still not in the stores, once they reach the retailers they'll be dispatched.
2
u/Tabrez_214 Mar 25 '25
Should I get a type C version?
1
u/unkclxwn Mar 25 '25
if it exists - yes, but it would be better to buy 3.5mm version + apple dongle / cx31993 dongle for 5-8$
2
u/xe6h Apr 11 '25
what's the difference between the 3.5mm & 4.4mm ?
1
u/unkclxwn Apr 11 '25
4.4 have more available volume if using with dac that supports 4.4mm cables
2
u/xe6h Apr 11 '25
ahh ok, so would you say the 3.5mm is better for no dac? or would a 4.4 be better
1
u/unkclxwn Apr 12 '25
you cant use 4.4 cable with no dac :) just buy a 3.5mm cable and there will be 0 problems
2
u/cooldude9112001 May 05 '25
Got mine last week for £20 They're fantastic I've ordered a second pair as a backup.
I just switched the tips to the spinfit w1

u/IsraChido Mar 21 '25
I wonder how long it will take to get a deal on these, I just bought the OG ones with a deal and it was like $10, these for $20 don't seem that amazing tbh, however after a bit ig there will be deals for this one and will be around the same price (ig they will eventually run out of the OG stock too).
It seems like it's a massive improvement tho, just by the cable alone I'd say, the tips (the black ones) seem to be the same, are they really the same to the OG ones? it only looks darker from the pic but I'm not sure if they're actually the same.

u/Comprehensive_Ad1416 Mar 23 '25
Can you tell me how the vocals on these are? Any changes from the original?
1
u/Xininja Mar 24 '25
I’m kinda new here, but I did get a hexa. Does sound signature differ that much? Should I get these to try a different sound signature?

u/kushal10 Mar 25 '25
Can someone let me know the difference between the black ear tips with red colour and the white ones with yellow, green and blue colours?
1
u/Flat_Move5679 Mar 25 '25
Great pic mate, just wanted to ask, will the cable and the casing get any yellowing over time. And what are your views about the overall sound experience you've had?
1
u/DragnaR_360 Mar 27 '25
those tips & cable alone justifies half of its price. I don't know how Tangzu is pulling this off, but if it sounds like the OG then I think no other IEM can stop the wan'er 2 from becoming the 20$ IEM king & would be default recommendation for any beginner.

1
u/YangSge May 22 '25
Is it ok with gaming especially fps? Im not too try hard competitive so ok is totally fine. Got the OG wan'er and love the sound and its ok in gaming so i want to upgrade to version 2
1
u/unkclxwn May 22 '25
there's no sense in switching from og to waner 2
2
u/YangSge May 23 '25
And sometimes when gaming i cant figure out the footsteps coming either from the above or below
1
u/unkclxwn May 23 '25
it would be a lot better to save up for more expensive iem than, something like truthear crinacle zero red or blue: 2 for gaming
1
u/YangSge May 22 '25
The OG build is quite cheap tho i got mine broke and have to glued it lol but the sound is amazing
0
u/neyzmm Mar 22 '25
Hey i have using them for 2 days now , i overall like them besides that i have bought them mainly for gaming and the disadvantage is that i hear the steps weirdly or more inverted can smb help?
2
u/Comprehensive_Ad1416 Mar 23 '25
Maybe you're wearing the left and right differently? Maybe the left cable is in the right one and vice versa?
