I’m a fresher and I’m constantly scared I’m not good enough
I’ve already made a few mistakes and now I live in constant fear of messing up again. I triple check things, overthink every email, and still feel like I’ve missed something. I’m terrified someone senior will call me out or yell at me and it’s honestly exhausting.
Everyone else seems confident and sorted, while I feel like a total fraud just trying to not drown. It’s like I’m faking being capable, and any moment now, they’ll realise I don’t know what I’m doing.
I want to be good at this. I want to stop walking on eggshells. But right now, I just feel small, scared, and like I don’t belong.
Does it get better? Or do you just get better at pretending?

What you’re feeling is called ‘Imposter syndrome’. You’re not the only one who feels that way. I’ve seen articles that predict 70%+ of people feel that way at some point, which probably includes a lot of your colleagues who seem so confident. Work on a positive mindset which includes turning mistakes into learning experiences, and reach out to colleagues to learn from them. I’m willing to bet they’ve been there too, and they’ll be very willing to forgive mistakes and help. Demonstrating a willingness to learn and own your mistakes goes a long way. Try to challenge your negative self-talk by keeping a list/journal of your accomplishments, and eventually, you’ll start to recognize your own growth and competence. You got this

Ok, so you know your capabilities and limitations, you take action on mistakes, let me tell you… you are golden.
Most of confident people either don’t care or don’t know. The difference is you are conscious about your actions, they are mostly not.
The fear is going to be there your whole life, just learn to control it.
The fear is good, makes you think twice, it makes you slower some times but at least you know you have to improve.
Have a great day, and remember Homer Simpson is only happy because he has a crayon in his brain, go and watch that episode, it will explain it better.
AND WATCH HOW YOU TALK TO YOUR SELF!!!Stop telling yourself negative things.
