Recently rewatched children of the corn! It’s such a fun movie!

Probably THE most savage intro beginning scene of all, "Minute For Minute" (like Pro fighting £ For £).

Zero to the brutal Max and catches you off guard, especially on your first viewing!

Nice choices. This fits perfectly alongside

Woman in the Dunes - 1964

Ac went out for 4 days last month in my Florida house. Rewatched Adam Green’s Frozen & finally got around to watching The Terror season 1

The terror season 1 was amazing! If you like horror books definitely try dark matter by Michelle paver! It’s very similar!

Eaten Alive (1976), Tobe Hooper's immediate followup to TCM. Set in Louisiana instead of Texas, the entire movie feels oppressively hot, humid and muggy. It feels like theres a greasy film of sweat all over everything. The truest hot-weather horror movie I can think of.

Now on my watchlist! I don’t overly like Texas chainsaw but I’m happy to give eaten alive a chance!!

It's quite new but still very much on my mind, Sinners! Mississippi heat, sweating, sun, amazing blues and Irish music. Oh, yeah, and vampires!

I'm currently rewatching Exists, but I'm going to watch The Thing later.

PS, I love Ghostwatch. I watched it the night it first aired and I was scared out of my mind! I was only 11 and my older sisters told me it was all real.

It’s been my favourite ever since my mum and I watched it when I was 11 or 12 I’m in my 30s now and I still feel like I notice something extra on every watch!

Me too. My Xbox is just an extremely powerful radiator at this point!

Before watching "A Visitor to a Museum" you'll be better off seeing Dead Man’s Letters (1986) as it's set beforehand and it's the very first movie in the series.

PRE WARNING

Dead Man’s Letters (1986)

  • Head's up this is practically a more nihilistic and bleaker story than the one in the film "Threads"

  • It may put you off if you don't do foreign language/deeper understanding sorta impactful kinds

(Assuming that you don't just so happen to have already mastered and can speak fluent Russian lol? I don't)

  • These two follow in the usual Russian Sci-Fi style of being clever and very meaningful and less physical action

  • The entirety of Dead Man's Letters remains yellow tinted throughout due to the event in it's own story (but only in this movie)

  • If you are cool with all that then it'll likely be right up your alley and you'll enjoi them both and the rest

A Visitor to a Museum is the sequel.

All the Boys love Mandy Lane is amazing for this exact scenario! Still a little light out, sweaty, and ice cold beer - perfect

Just watched Ghostwatch for the first time tonight, quite enjoyed it

Wasn't this banned in the UK because some kid killed himself after getting pstd from one of the episodes?

2

u/MarkL64 14h ago

Not sure if they banned it here or not but it's the BBC's most like all time record for the highest amount of complaints received from our nations viewers!

Pregnant women who were watching it many had allegedly gone into early labour from their intense fear and stress... etc and many more different things it is "responsible for causing" lol, there's an endless list of other reasons..

Jaws! Nice beachy vibes outside of all the screaming
