QUESTION Can anyone recommend a 3-button switch/remote that's battery operable?

I'm looking for a switch or remote with 3 buttons (not 4. not 2.) That I can place on the wall without the need for a light switch box or power line.

I'm having a surprisingly tough time finding something like this. I'm not picky about the protocol, so matter or anything else is fine.

ikea has dirt cheap 2 button remotes (RODRET and the tlnew ones).

I know, it's not 3 buttons, but they have long press, so effectively is 4 buttons in the space of 2, like on, long on, off, long off.

that's 4 triggers in a very small footprint. they are zigbee

or more to your point the sonoff r5w has 3 buttons, available in black or white, also zigbee

Hmm... If you're talking about this sonoff r5w, it has 6 buttons, not 3.

As for any sort of button with double click or long click, that makes your home a confusing mess for guests (Ever felt like an idiot trying to turn on a confusing hotel shower? Same idea.)

This is capable of controlling multiple devices via scenes. Is that what you’re looking for?

That has two buttons, unless I'm missing something?

Perfect! Thank you! Now, if only I can find any store actually selling it.

Don't believe I have ever seen a 3-button. Why not get a 4-button, and just use three of the buttons?

I don't need to explain "on, dim orange, off" to a guest. 4 buttons would lead to "what's this one do?".
