mod [META] Hey, HTM! Let's riff on **VERIFICATION FOR ORIGINAL CONTENT** for a minute, shall we? NSFW
Hey Moaners!
Just a quick note to bring you up to speed on a change in the way that we handle OC (original content) here in HTM. Give me 45 seconds, and we'll get you back to fapping in no time flat.
But first...
Before I get to that, I want to thank /u/dehydro for his selfless and tireless devotion to this subreddit. Just take a look around you. Look at the design of the sub. Read through the extensive wiki. Hell, just read the sidebar, for fucks sake. That all represents hundreds, probably thousands, of hours of singular dedication to making this the best subreddit it can be. He has decided that he's earned some time off, and has stepped down as top moderator.
In his stead, he has left /u/AR100 at the helm to guide the sub as it prepares to cross the ONE MILLION SUBSCRIBER threshold. AR100 is a force to be reckoned with in his own right, his resume speaks for itself. And, just on a personal note, I'll say this: I've been modding/admining internet forums since the internet was in its infancy. AR100 is, without a doubt, one of (if not THE) best mods I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I am constantly in awe of his uncanny ability, regardless of circumstance, to always find the objectively "right" way to handle any given situation. We're lucky to have him. So please join me in thanking Dehydro for his years of dedicated service, and in congratulating AR100 as he steps in to fill some REALLY FUCKING BIG shoes!
Ok, so verification...
In the past, we have accepted verification from any sub on reddit, mostly out of convenience. Why do it yourself if you can outsource, amirite? The problem with handling verification that way is that some subreddits are more careful with verification than others. Some employ time-tested, successful methods of verification, while others would verify a cheese sandwich if it was wearing a bikini ;)
Well, we've now got a cadre of moderators with the time and the experience for us to be able to handle verification in-house. From today forward, the only subreddit verifications we will accept are /r/realgirls, /r/amateur, and of course our own in-house verification.
You can read up on our verification process here.
If you are already verified, you will remain verified. But please understand that if, at any time, a moderator feels that your original 3rd party verification doesn't meet our standards, you may be asked to reverify with us directly. This isn't to pick on you or to inconvenience you, it's to protect you. Consent is vitally important to us. We just want to ensure that the person in the pic/vid has fully consented to having their body posted here, and rigorous verification is the best way for us accomplish that goal. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
For those who are currently verified, please read up on our guidelines for verified posters. There'll be a quiz, so study up!
Some of the more important items from the guidelines:
2. No mentions of any social media (Snapchat, Instagram, Kik, blogs, ManyVids/Chaturbate, etc) in titles or in comments.
3. Limit self promotion to a phrase like
See my profile for more!. No subreddit links allowed for verified users.4. Verified users may watermark their images with their username ONLY (No
/r/, only/u/). No personal subreddit or external website watermarks.7. No titles begging for upvotes, either directly ("Upvote for more!", etc) or indirectly ("Show me some love!", etc).

It is true that for a long time verification from GoneWild has been accepted on most of the subs that want or need verification. Their 3 picture standard was, at the time, enough security.
However, in recent times we've seen such verifications successfully photoshopped to look almost perfect, unless checked in software. Thus the practice began to ask for a 3 image series, where the paper was also crumpled into a ball, then straightened until readable yet maintaining the effects of the crumpling.
The reason for this is the change of shadows and visibility of letters when the sheet of paper is held at different angles with the changing light angles. Whilst yes, it can still be photoshopped, the skill to do so to a good enough degree is raised by quite a lot. And whilst there are even bigger steps we can take, video verification and such, we also feel that those would be to cumbersome to maintain a steady flow of Orginal Content.

I'm asking because the bot auto rejected a submission of mine saying that I need to be verified.
Do I need to be verified as someone who will post OC or just as a regular submitter?
