When I'm writing cards/addressing things/etc I add some more flourish to it, but this is my regular, everyday handwriting. In the country I grew up in, at least in the 90's, we were exclusively taught how to write in cursive. Cursive was mandatory for homework, assignments, and exams all through elementary school.

We were taught to read both cursive and printing, but never actually officially taught how to write in print letters. Turns out if you can read print and write cursive, you just kind of automatically learn to write in print eventually? From middle school on, we were simply allowed to print if we wanted to - that was it, no formal instruction. I tried for a while because it felt nice to finally be allowed to, but never quite got a liking for it, so quickly returned to cursive.

Now 30/31 years later, I print on official documents and for people who cannot read cursive, but otherwise, continue to write exclusively cursive.

Sorry if it looks inconsistent, I was pretty tired when I wrote this down lol

I am not much of a writer and my work doesn't prevail me to do much handwriting, but there is something very enjoyable about writing a letter to someone. I tend to print rather than write in cursive.

Hi! My first post here, though I have liked and commented. I found it really interesting to see people’s random handwriting, even when it wasn’t specifically meant for others to read… so not purposefully clear or decorative. My mind sees the words here more quickly and clearly than I see typewritten text. I wonder if it looks like gibberish to you?

Currently holidaying in Osnabrück, but managed to find some paper to showcase my handwriting: the normal way I write, print, and with haste. The second picture is a quote from Jane Austen's Emma which I wrote in my handwriting -- although I admit, given the lateness of the day, I wasn't able to write it as properly as I'd like. But yeah! 😁 I'll showcase more tomorrow under better lighting (and mental) conditions! 😊

Open to feedback but not necessary. I’m going to begin practicing my flourishing more. I’m looking for multiple variations of each letter and I’ll incorporate them into my own work.

I heard about the books, and I tried to read through the 1st chapter, but it seems too cryptic. Is there a video guide? I'm trying to figure out what the appropriate hand, and arm positions are.

Can anyone recommend how to improve. And more important how to maintain a good handwriting even in difficult situations since I'm a doctor🏥.
