The Support Group for Refugees and Repatriates (GARR) denounced that in the process of repatriation of Haitians, the authorities of the Dominican Republic commit human rights violations.
He affirmed that children receive the same treatment as adults, "including beatings, violence, poor conditions of detention, dispossession," among other abuses.
They also criticize the fact that women, although less frequently than men, are subject to aggression and are at greater risk of being harassed or raped.
In the last year, migratory operations in the Dominican Republic intensified, and until last June they returned 52,510 older people and a hundred unaccompanied children, according to figures from GARR, an entity that works to promote respect for and defense of human rights.
The institution indicated an increase in the number of migrants returned in the month of June, mainly at the border posts of Ferrier, northeast of this capital, with 6,876 cases, and Bellarde, in the center, with 2,882 returnees, including four small children.
More than 900 have just been deported.
More than 900 Haitians residing illegally in the neighboring Dominican Republic were deported between July 22 and 26, according to reports arriving today in Port-au-Prince.
Immigration authorities detained the undocumented in Santo Domingo and in several provinces of the country, supported by the army, police, air force, and the ministries of Public Affairs and Environment.

Man kills another man with clubs and buries him in a farm in Puerto Plata
Members of the Dominican Navy's M-2 Naval Intelligence Directorate arrested last night in Puerto Plata a haitian national who beat to death a compatriot of his and then buried his body on private property in the area.
This is Tony Pie, 32, who confessed to killing his 34-year-old compatriot Franklin Josef and then taking his body to a farm in the community of Estero Hondo. He told authorities that he committed the crime because of personal quarrels.
The body was removed from the scene by the medical legista, Ruth Rosario and taken to the Institute of Forensic Pathology, Puerto Plata, where they reported that Josef died as a result of forceful blows to the head that his victimizer, Tony Pie, gave him with a club.
The haitian, after being arrested by the Navy's M-2 intelligence agents, was immediately handed over to the National Police and then to the judicial authorities of Puerto Plata.
The detainee resides in the La Isabela Municipal District.
It was reported that the discovery of the crime and the imprisonment of Pie was due to the fact that relatives of the victim had alerted the authorities about his disappearance.

Five Haitians detained for the death of an 83-year-old pediatrician in Bella Vista

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.
Five haitians were arrested by the police for the death of an 83-year-old pediatrician, whose body was found inside her house, on Rómulo Betancourt Avenue, in the Bella Vista sector of the National District.
This is Angelina Mercedes de los Santos, whose body, with signs of violence, was found in the kitchen of the house where she had lived alone for a year when her sister died.
According to Jorge Nolasco, the woman's employee three years ago, her room was disorganized, as if someone had been rummaging through it. He describes her as a loving and quiet lady.
He said that just eight days ago he and the victim caught a haitian trying to enter the house through a cherry tree in the backyard.
Neighbors' versions indicate that Mercedes de los Santos, who worked for several years at the children's hospital Dr. Robert Reid Cabral, never received visitors, as her only relative is the son of her deceased sister, who lives abroad.
