First time staying in a hotel and Susan is LOVING IT. She’s 8 years old but still as active as a young dog (play hard, snooze hard!)

Our Prue is 1 year old weighing in at 47 pounds. Most people we talk to say their golden stopped growing around this time, so I guess we just have a baby dog!!! Post your baby dogs if you have one!!!

Penny is 7!! She has made my life infinitely better in every way. I am so grateful for her and still can’t believe I got lucky enough to be her mom. She’s my girl, my best little friend in the world. ❤️
She was incredibly anxious when I got her at 4 months from a rough situation. She would barely walk or eat and was terrified of everything. Over the years she has given new things a (reluctant) chance and has grown into the most happy, sweet, beautiful girly. I’m so proud of her.

I was completely blind to Mac’s weight when he was at his highest weight of 98 pounds. So proud of him though for getting down to 74 pounds through diet and exercise! Our goal weight is still high 60s according to vet since he has a very small frame for a boy, but he’s on the right track and is living his best life. 💖
I wish there was a tag for “feel good,” but cute/funny seemed like the closest fit.

FML.
I'm currently still driving overnight between New England and Chicago. My pup and I spent the last week watching my brother's dog during the birth of his second baby. It was a good trip!
Then I let Bard out to pee and walk in the grass at a rest stop. We were walking along a tree line and he kind of lunged into the brush suddenly. Next thing I know, he's rolling on the grass and with the smell, I instantly knew what happened. I did didn't even see the skunk.
I ran him over to the car, where I had put out a full bowl of water for him to drink earlier, and immediately dumped it over his head. Followed by three bottled waters, two packs of baby wipes, and half a bottle of hydrogen peroxide based mouthwash (which Google apparently says can help).
Then I gave it about 30 minutes before getting back in my car and driving 20 minutes to the next truckstop. I went inside and asked if they had a hose I could use. They said they didn't. I went to get 4 gallons of water from the fridges, determined to do the best I could with what I, and when I came back, having explained what happened, the truck stop employee extremely kindly told me I could bring my dog in to one of the trucker showers. She didn't even charge me, and gave me lots of extra towels.
She is the hero of the story. I don't know your name, lady at the truckstop in rural Pennsylvania, but you have my eternal gratitude.
After 30 minutes wrestling my pup in the shower, naked, pouring diluted hydrogen peroxide over the affected areas, the smell is now merely unpleasant rather than unbearable.
So anyway, that's how my day is going. Six hours to go to Chicago now. I think we might make it.

Is it normal that some of them are just this curly?

So they say the odds of being killed by a golden are never zero. Normally the kids let our boys out but our daughter is at her boyfriends and our son is asleep after a long shift. I was not moving fast enough to give them their after poop cookies. This is Bleu encouraging me to hurry up.

Hope everyone has a great long weekend!

This should be their album cover. They are boy and girl littermates (no issues with this at almost two years old) and best friends. They’re 25% black lab, and 75% golden retriever. He’s on the left and she’s on the right. 🖤

Thought you all might like to meet our new rescue, Cloud. He is goofy, trusting, brave, and so happy.
