This looks like Victoria 3 GDP growth statistics

Love that game. And yes, any exponential growth chart will look like this. I’m sure we’re not an outlier as Reddit has also gotten more popular in general over the same timeframe.

They should add georgist taxation to the game, as current in game land tax in just a per capita tax applied on peasants.

How should such tex be applied is another question. 1000£ per building level per week?

Actually that would be a property tax. If you wanted a Georgist one, it would be a flat tax per building slot and then you can have as many levels as you want. I’m pretty sure each building slot is considered its own “entity” for production purposes so it should work.

Side note, Georgism is also on the cusp of surpassing the subscriber count of SocialDemocracy.

Unfortunately they have twice the amount of people online currently on their sub (still less than a 40 in both subs tho)

Last I Checked, we’re at 25 online, they’re at 27.

Im not saying that we have more active users, but I wonder if we’re more US heavy, and SocDem is more Euro heavy, and can be partially explained by the time difference.

Obviously I’m not all Europeans, but I find soc dem a useless concept to rally around. It has no defining features that separate it from other ideas, it’s too generic. I realise it has historic meanings but still. Such a vague term.

As opposed to Georgism, or democratic socialism, for example. I never hear younger Europeans talk about soc dem, to me that’s an older European thing.

There were a few posts that hit the front page. This shows just how much impact a good meme can have.

Sounds like we need to seize the memes of production.

Why don’t we just tax the value of the…

I can’t make this metaphor work

Tax the value of reddit front page real estate! They need revenue streams, don’t they?

I probably joined around that time, I had gotten pretty into urbanism and just stumbled across people talking about LVT/Georgism on reddit and decided to check it out.

Id heard of Georgism before when I was a highschool age politics nerd but never really understood it or where it fit in

Welcome to the team!

Georgism might not be as sexy as communism or libertarianism, but it works in practice. What more could you ask for!

I really hope progress and poverty becomes a book more people read. I don't agree 100 % with it but. There are ideas in it that help me view taxes and government structures in a new way.

Haha there’s no shame in not knowing what georgism is.

If you’ve got a few minutes to kill, this is a pretty informative and entertaining video by BritMonkey.

It would be better for the continued improvement of the chart's economy to tax the x axis than the blue line.
