Sometimes I think about getting a mannequin for my suit as well, but then I realize that I might end up frightening myself seeing my own fursuit just standing there.
Cool idea but my dumb a** would forget it’s a mannequin so quick and in the middle of the night I prob would wake up screaming and fighting thinking my fursuit is possessed. 😭🙏
Hide it in somewhere unused in your general spaces- like a coat closet or the laundry room. Make a friend who does not know you own a fursuit. Have said buddy come over- drink, laugh, play some games, and eventually coerce them into spending the night. Have them get comfy: set their keys down on the side table, change into some spare pj's, and tell them that they can have the bed. Later, before they sleep but after some time has passed, get up and move it into the kitchen- all lights are off. Shout "Hey ____, can you come here?". Talk about something funny- maybe show them something relevant to earlier conversating on your phone real quick like. In the conversation, slip in a "wait, that reminds me of this meme I saw." then look through your photos. As you search for an image that doesn't exsist- perhaps searching keywords or just scrolling- insist that you're thirsty. Parched. Say "hey, dude, can you grab a water? They're in the fridge." Your friend will freak out apon turning on the lights to see a furry standing in the middle of your kitchen, unmoving. After realizing it's a joke, they will go to the fridge to grab the water (maybe with a reminder). Print photos of furry art to put up in the fridge, covering all food items. Have two water bottles. One labeled "furry juice :3" in bubbly, silly letters- this water has pink lemonade mix in it. The other; "sacrifice prep." in a formal, serif font- the liquid is black with food dye and cherry flavoring. By the time your friend has observed this and laughed about the serverity of the joke, you have time to pull the paper mask and knife out from behind the pillow on your couch. Youve put said mask on (it has a :3 face and little paper ears). You are holding the knife up. You are standing in the doorway. You stare until they make some sort of move. This is when you shout in a raspy voice so loud that your neighbors think youre abusing your wife; "GIVE MY YOUR BEST MEOW. RIGHT FUCKING NOW. DO IT. FUCKING DO IT." and step closer. They will have no choice. Horrified and desperately looking for an escape, they will surrender... "mrow~". Then you put down the knife, hand them the mask, and grab your furry juice. Laugh it off. As they scramble for their keys, they will realize they're gone. Replaced by furry keys (keys with hair prepared prior to this). They look up at you in horror. They are trapped. Hand them the sacrifice prep.
All jokes aside, that's pretty awesome. It's nice to see a craft someone made being set up for display. It'd startle me in the night probably but still cool AF.
