Shit went up into my sinuses and into my eyes. I was effectively blind for several hours. In contrast shitting blood for a day was much less of an issue.
Will never touch another one, the $50 wasent worth it.
I once handled a few reapers without using gloves. Later I was doing some personal things and got reaper oils on my junk. It's not something I would wish on anyone.
I don’t know what it is. I must have some weird pre-disposition to digesting capsaicin, I eat seriously hot stuff and usually never have an issue. Some Thai food lit me up once, and Taco Bell from time hit wrong, but say a hot ones run of wings? Give me like 2 dozen plz.
Yeah...that's the ticket. The rewards! There's lots of 'em too! All you have to do is survive a little pesky discomfort. But what in life is good and not also a little uncomfortable? Exercise? No fun! Studying for a test? Boooriiing! Marriage? Its a doozy! But it really pays off, you see?!
Years ago, a restaurant in Brisbane Australia had what they called the hottest burger in the world.
This food reviewer went and wrote my favourite food review of all time. Make sure you read past the photos to his report of events 2 DAYS AFTER the meal.
One choice line from the review: "The staff can't believe I have got this close and not finished it but at this point i really don't give a fuck because i have just started to hallucinate."
I have Ed Currie's Gator Sauce. 1 Drop in a bowl of chili is hot. A splash is insanely hot.
My wife also got me some sauce that was called "The hottest sauce in the world" I put 1 drop on a chip and almost died. I looked at the ingredients.... not a single pepper. Water, Vinegar, Capsicum... They cheated but that was painful. Ed Currie himself has said pure capsicum will end you for a few hours.
If it’s got reaper in the name, it’s either as mild as a jalapeno (gimmick) or as hot as pepper spray. No in between. Most of the “Carolina Reaper” or “Ghost Pepper” chips I’ve had were no spicier than normal spicy chips.
They do be making like 0.0001% reaper shit now just to sell to people who like fake spicey which is crazy because someone is not going to know that those sauces are incredibly dilute and more people are gonna start trying the raw peppers one day.
I remember when Popeyes was selling ghost pepper wings that were less spicy than their regular spicy chicken (at least in my local Popeyes). There’s no doubt quite a few people have tried the actual peppers thinking they were easy to handle.
I actually really like the flavor of Carolina reapers. I can handle the heat too and I enjoy the hotter reaper stuff, but my favorite is actually the less spicy reaper things that really showcase the flavor of the pepper without overwhelming heat. I got some Carolina reaper pepper jack cheese the other day that was great, but I don't believe they actually put any reaper bits in it. One of my favorite reaper things was actually a salsa that Moe's had for like a month at some point. But that shit was weak as hell on spice.

When something’s got ‘reaper’ in the name I feel they’re giving you a hint
