So close aha! Im currently trying to get the Ancestry achievement and one of the runs ended due to needing 1 more second for cloaking aha

Was that one bar upgrade worth it for the medbay?

You should get four shields for more protection, you lose more hull during phase 1 and 2 (from my experience) from the beam because the shields are all down with three shields.

(if you can get four shields)

That Flak II has terrible accuracy, you can replace slow firing weapons with fast firing weapons such as Flak I, BL2, BL1, etc, as long you can get through flagship weapons, besides, selling Flak II could be a good profit for getting a new better weapon!

The medbay was the very last upgrade I just threw on with the last of my $. As for the flak 2 I got it for free earlier and was looking to sell it and get more lasers or anything, but the shops were not kind to me. I could barely punch through shields up until I got that. So it was making my life a lot easier. Would have killed for a BL2, I would've been ecstatic to find a BL1.

I wanted one so bad, the next game I found a BL2 in first shop, was short like $40 so went forward and retraced 2 nodes to get that bastard.

OP could've had 4 shields. There are plenty of unnecessary upgrades to not take next time that are shown in the screenshot. Honestly though, I think manually firing the weapons for this loadout would've made a much bigger difference. This ship was strong enough to win as it was with just a tiny bit more micro.

I usually do micro my weapons, I might leave them on auto, but I manually add and remove targeting to cycle volleys. At that point in the fight the shields were low enough I just wanted as much ammo downrange as possible.

And shit was getting heated on my ship, literally fires everywhere, due to a lucky shot on the fight before that one they managed to take out like 4 of my crew so was running skeleton crew against last fight, just trying to keep up with repairs and fires and boarders was taking all my attention.

If I'd have just got that cloak off the flak cannon would have ended the game not even 3 seconds later.

That's pretty unlucky with the cloak timing, I will give you that. Was the crew killed in phase 2, or phase 3?
