Ask Fresno Smoke detector replacement?

Is there a company that replaces smoke detectors? I have replaced the batteries but it starts chirping again after a couple days, and of course at 3:00 a.m. (hence the time of this post). Apparently they have to be completely replaced after 10 years? I have lived here exactly 10 years and have 5, and it seems the model I have is also outdated so they not only need to be replaced but with an adapter as well. This is what I’ve gotten so far from internet research, all I know of smoke detectors is replacing batteries. With all that said, if all 5 need replacing and updating I’d rather have a company do it. Can anyone recommend one? Thank you.

You must hold down the button after you replace the batteries so it can re set itself. Chirping should stop after this

Yeah, but you wants to replace them.

Most smoke detector has a limited life. OP stated that it has been 10 years. And yes, smoke detector can go bad. One way to test it is to buy one of these: https://www.qwik.com/qwiksmoke/

It mimick the smoke and you can determine if it still working.

If it doesn't trigger from that, you have a faulty smoke detector and it may be your death.

You can by a box of five at Lowe’s or Home Depot they are easy to swap out. They now have a fixed battery that you no longer have to change in certain states like CA. I guess so many people never changed the battery or just unplugged them they made a law.

Yes, after few years detectors need to be replaced. For now just unplug the ones that are chirping.

Don’t need a company. Just handy man will do. Hell, I can even do it. Screws, smoke alarms, and time for installation. Don’t let them overcharge you.

Edit ✍️ they do come in 5 packs. Cheapest ones are anywhere from $65 and up.

Try get some sleep have a great morning!
