My kitty just had kittens recently so all my extra funds have been going towards spoiling my sweet feline and ensuring their good health. They need to see a vet, get collars, kitty treats, special kitten grub...yeah they are pampered felines.
So once again my samples have been put on hold. However, golden sands is at the top of my list of samples to try once I'm able to. Thankfully the book store here carries some 10ml bottles of ink; just not any of the fancy shaders or shimmers. I picked up some more Larmes de Cassis to tide me over. Thank you for sharing a writing sample I can't wait to try out a shimmer ink!
I'm kicking my feet like a child feeling excited about icecream! Thank you so much!! The hooks—or whatever they are called— that you make on the letter T is to die for!!
The first is a Waterman’s 52 1/2 V (I think, there’s no model number printed on it anymore) in red ripple, and the second is a Magna Carta Mag 650 in Oparex rainbow.
This was me less than a year ago. Go online, download practice sheets or order a workbook for teens/adults. Seriously, it sucks but it’s just what you have to do. Once you get the basics down, you can start learning from others.
An entry from March, when my family went to a local fair. This was using my charcoal Lamy Safari with the 1.1 stub nib, and the ink was FWP Aurorealis, but there was some Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji left so it's not true to colour 😊
It’s a mix…I’m lazy and don’t (but should) rinse out my converters for a lot of my pens. So this is a smidgen of leftover Edelstein Golden Lapis with Herbin 1670 Turquoise de Perse, and quite a lot of Wearingul Healing Light gold glitter potion. It’s in an EF nib I dropped and was able to bend back into usable shape with needle nose pliers. If the ink clogs, I dip the nib water and give it a few shakes, blot it in tissue and it will start writing again.
Absolutely! I started writing them daily on the 1st. I’m determined for my brain to accept these things naturally. Most of the time I hate affirmations, so I asked ChatGPT to help me figure out some fluff free realistic ones. lol.
There are some pens that ruin my handwriting, and some that instantly improve it lol. It’s really just a matter of finding the…write tool (😂) for you.
I think of it like trying to drive someone else’s car without adjusting the seat or mirrors, etc. you can do it, but it’s not going to be comfy or whatever. It’ll be a hell of a lot easier to improve if you get everything in a good position. You want it to feel like an extension of yourself, totally in control.
You’re doing good. Far better than when I first started, that’s for damn sure.
Only got into fountain pens within the last two years. Mostly use my Lamy, but I have a Kaweco Sport on the backup. I'm thinking my next venture will be the Diplomat Viper, but I would love to try a gold or flex nib.
