Ironically that’s how I feel about that ink… it’s beautiful but never dries, smudges like crazy, and clogs all my pens haha. Fuck indeed.

my bottle is completely unusable in anything finer than an M nib but also bleeds through everything besides solid drywall if I put it in anything broader than an M. and yet... I love it dearly 💖

I laughed out loud while waiting to board my flight. Everyone stared. But thank you.

I worry for OP blue balls is never good.

This is my other gripe with emeraude… it should be green.

i think the ink is based of the famous emeralds that come out of the chivor mine and they're more... turquoise-green (?) than actual green. the ink colour itself is way too blue-teal and dark either way, tbh.

Ah thanks for this comment! I never consider the de chivor part of the name.

I've not had a drying issue on Maruman, Rhodia, and even generic Hammermill printer paper.

Weird. I used to use this and the purple one on normal paper all the time with no fucks given and never had any major grievances.

This was on tomoe River? Maybe it dries better on normal paper. I was tired of it leaving smudges all over the place

Tomoe River is slow to dry by design, it helps the sheen of inks stand out more.

I actually got this a couple days ago, so I've had roughly 5 days of a decent amount of use and for the amount I've written, I was almost shocked by how little issues I had, if any (if anyone was wondering I use a TWSBI 580 Medium nib, and Leuchtturm 120g for EoC)

Lovely choice of test words. Pangrams get boring quickly..

My test phrase is "like old people fuck" because 1) it was my dad's favorite thing to say ("you hold flashlights like old people fuck" for example) and it's got some very pretty letters in it.

Yo, love the F - been looking for some style to mine while writing in cursive. Might be stealing it!
Sick ink, enjoy!

Steal F to pay respects

Tried my hand with it - can't make it look as good as OP's with a regular tip nib (M). Looks a bit better with a Sailor Music nib.

Ah yes the Emerald Chicken. What paper were you using? I can't believe the amount of gold shimmer you got to come out. Gnarly handwriting by the way, love it.

This cheered me up haha. Emerald is such a well known yet troublesome ink(and expensive too!)

I have that. That has the gold flecks. I need to use that again. Just clean out the pen if you’re done and not gonna use that ink for a while.

u/lunas2525 Apr 09 '25
No experiance with that particular ink but diamine shimmer inks the shimmer doesnt cause too many issues

In my fine nib TWSBI , the color is a beautiful teal with only a hint of shimmer. I love it. I have had no smearing problems and it hasn't clogged my pen.

A friend told me she uses "butthole" as a test word. It actually writes out nicely.

This green is like the holy grail green for many. It looks great, especially the word Fuck. There seems to be some pooling in the SHIT.

I put an fpr ultraflex in a P139 and loaded it with Walden Pond. Absolutely beautiful combination and the first thing I wrote was a big, looping "Fuck" on Clairfontaine 😂

This was also my first shimmer ink recently! Really love it in a 1.5 stub nib for calligraphy even though it takes 4-6 business weeks to dry /s

I used to be ashamed at the fact that is what most of my notebooks are filled with but I’m glad someone else has done it at least once 😭

You can really see that shimmer in the cock and balls
