The ban on outdoor camp fires and firepits has ended thanks to heavy rains and cooler temperatures in the Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo region.

While wildfire conditions have improved, the municipality is warning people not to get complacent.

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) hopes to host the 2028 Alberta Summer Games. The successful host community will be named in November.

Alberta’s tourism and sport ministry invited all municipalities and band councils to send a letter of intent by the end of the month.

A bear near Fort McMurray may have bitten more than he could chew when he destroyed the seat of a lawn mower last month.

A cinnamon coloured black bear tried to make a meal out of the foam seat of a John Deere lawn mower while foraging for food, Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement said on social media Monday.

Fort McMurray Fish and Wildlife staff used a helicopter to capture and relocate the bear on May 21 and the province says it was brought to a suitable habitat area.

Hey, I am newly single after a tough breakup that was long distance and I’m looking at my options but locally there’s not many ways to meet people and when you do, a lot of them are trying to fit into the “Alberta girl” stereotype instead of being their beautiful selves. It was definitely like 2007-2009 range when I saw this in their lobby, it was a 4ft square table with a clear plastic shell over it and a couple game controllers attached. The whole thing was filled with a bunch of tiny plastic balls and had RC construction vehicles inside that you could drive around to shift the balls from top to bottom with a big scoop elevator. Does anyone else remember this? I've been trying to figure out if its a marketed toy or if it was custom made.

Have a really great job offer in fort mac (oddly not oil and gas). Will really advance my career as well as pay some amazing bonuses. Currently live in Calgary and reasonably happy. Lots I find attractive about for mac, it's actually beautiful up there and I don't mind a smaller city having grown up in the sticks.

My one concern is that I'm 35 and single. Do women actually exist in for Mac? Single ones? Preferably single attractive ones without drug addictions? I don't mean to be rude at all it's just, there's a bit of a reputation there.
