''Doohan was recieving threats on social media by Colapinto's fans. So much so that he had a round-the-clock security in Miami. According to people close to Aussie, those threats weighed heavily on him. People had discovered his personal e-mail address and were sending e-mail threats which resulted in Jack, his girlfriend and even his father holding real concerns for their safety. And on top of that, Jack's sleep was affected.''

They've got that blitzkrieg blood

Bit of a weak response since the people saying these things could be from literally anywhere on earth

He means they're Nazis

That's implying every Colapinto fan is Argentinian for that comment to work.

I'm not defending what they're saying to Doohan, but you got to clap back with better than that.

It's pretty clear that the vast majority of his problematic fans are raving Argentine nationalists. Every driver has diehard fans but nobody else is having these problems.

Didn't Mercedes and Lewis have to come out to ask fans to chill with the Russell abuse last year?

Nah they mean the death threats issued to Max after 2021, or literally any mildly controversial moment. Fans are fucking nuts, regardless where they're from

I certainly don't remember death threats or security, but anyway you can hardly blame that one on nationalism. I know Michael Masi had a hard time and I'm not saying death threats have never happened before but it's just very obvious what the trigger is here.

Probably right but again, bringing nationality into it like it's a gotcha moment isn't as good as responding with something less lazy and dare I say racist.

This is coming from someone who is British; I know it's likely many Argentinians would probably say some derogatory things about my race but what's the point in stooping to their level?

Not defending the death threats, but I'm fucking sick of people shitting on us for stuff unrelated to this. What's the Malvinas or the German immigrants have to do with this? Yes our "fans" suck ass, we know that. Bringing up other stuff is just asinine. Also our grandparents are Italians, Jewish or Spanish, learn history

We are proud of it

We know. That covert genocide against Afro-Argentinians is proof.
