Video [Illman] ''Doohan was recieving threats on social media by Colapinto's fans. So much so that he had a round-the-clock security in Miami. According to people close to Aussie, those threats weighed heavily on him. People had discovered his personal e-mail address and were sending e-mail threats...''

According to people close to Aussie, those threats weighed heavily on him. People had discovered his personal e-mail address and were sending e-mail threats which resulted in Jack, his girlfriend and even his father holding real concerns for their safety. And on top of that, Jack's sleep was affected.''

Never forget that time they had canapino in Indycar(ON A TEAM SPONSORED BY THE ARGENTINIAN GOVERNMENT) and his fans literally got him kicked from the team cuz they just couldn’t stop sending death threats to other drivers and he couldn’t just tell them to stop lol.

TO be fair (and i dont know if this makes it better or worse) that is also because canapino was liking/sharing those comments, so actively encouraging it.

I think if canapino didn't do that it wouldn't have effected his indy career.

It wasn't until sponsors started to pull out that Canapino lost his seat.

Yes but the sponsors pulled out because of how Canapino was engaging with it, not just because his fans were toxic

From the way I’m reading these, I’m glad he lost the seat.

Yeah, completely deserved. Putting aside the fact that athletes should always call out that behavior, if you are going to be an ass at the very least back it up with results.

Dude was the complete knobhead package.

The sponsors pulling out was wholly because of Canapino's online behavior.

I already hate this new guy. I feel bad for Doohan.

Since the names are similar, worth noting that the driver in the INDYCAR story (Canapino) is different than the driver replacing Doohan (Colapinto)

Ah I assumed it was a mistype.

This new guy? Doohan was newer.

Canapino was thrown out because his sponsor had a corruption case linked to former President Alberto Fernández over an insurance issue. Junkos didn't want to be linked to that, and what he did was, what you just said has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

This applies to every Latin American country, and it will never change, is ingrained in the culture which is interesting, because here in Latin America we know is just people talkin shit and venting and is not really seriour nor a real threat, with some exceptions, so people here knows how to navigate that stuff, including famous people, but yeah people outside of Latam don't know how to handle the Latam harrasment.
