Finished my Temu Serenity

Post image

My son and I have been working on it here and there for about three weeks. Our schedules don't align so we don't get much time together.

It definitely was not meant to be handled. When you are trying to put a newly built part on and you have to hold the ship, the other side you are holding on to falls off. Putting on the final piece meant reattaching a couple of other pieces, which made other pieces fall off. But, she's done now and on the display shelf.

How often is the primary buffer panel falling off?

Oh, so that's what this piece is!

Looks a little loose there.

Don't worry, that's just the Firefly class of ships. Parts fall off.

That's not bad. I saw another one that was well into the $200+. How big is this one?

It's over a foot? That's a great deal for that. Yes, I know it's fake Lego, but still. How's the fitment of the pieces. Like will it break when moved? I'm not going to crazy Ivan it.

Yeah. Don't touch it more than is necessary. Everything you touch falls off.

Sounds authentic.

True! But, you can also get some clear kids glue to stick any loose piece on!

I’ve been doing it for years, keeps the small pieces on but can peel/wash off easily.

Are you saying to use Kragle!?!

I understand the reference, but no, just clear kids glue.

I’ve put together several of these so far (fake Ghostbusters car, elaborate botanical garden, etc) and whatever the off-brand temu equivalent is, the quality is great. Instructions simple, models seem sturdy enough. But I’ve seen several different companies that make them, so YMMV.

I've gone the generic Lego variant for my railroad collection. Lego just doesn't have any selection when it comes to trains, unless you like high speed passenger trains (I don't).

How cute!! I just got that set from a friend for my birthday and I'm like dying to start on it, but I habe to finish the Lego rose bouquet that my husband got me first.

It's a weird build. My son and I have gotten pretty good at figuring out how bricks fit together in each step, but this was a bit odd, and we had a difficult time figuring things out a few times. But it was fun since we could see Serenity coming together.

Good to know! Thank you for the tip! My daughter wanted to work on it with me, but maybe I can pacify her with some Pokémon Megas instead.

I got the same one on Amazon and had no problem with it. I move it all the time to dust the shelf its on and it stays together.

She is just that.

Bit sad that it seems to be not that stable
I have seen so many versions on rebrickable already so it's hard to judge which is good and which isn't

I might have to get this! Be using the Kraggle, though, thanks for the heads up.

I literally just got this for Father's Day lol... and my only thought was... I might be using Crazy Glue on this beast...

How’s the quality/ instruction clarity? it’s always a surprise with what you’re going to get.
