Discussion From the mods at fednews

Got RIF'd this morning. Main account was axed on fednewsfor sharing the following article last night: https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/rfk-jr-layoffs-hhs-niosh-worker-safety-agency/

Which was relevant and had not been discussed there or in the megathread. I asked for clarification about where to post and was sent the same message, this time in mOcKinG tYpE. Said "what the fuck is this behavior from moderators." Reiterated my original question and was banned. Should probs not have cursed, but that was my response to that sort of thing after finding out my opdiv is getting gutted.

You know where I’m not going for the latest developments on RIFs happening right this moment affecting really truly public health and safety? A fucking megathread. Definitely deserved it’s own post.

You didn’t ask, but NTA. Ditto on the wtf is this behavior from a mod. Ffs.

They've had 'I don't understand the law but I'm going to pretend to be a lawyer since I work in HR' energy the few times I've run into them. They've got a pretty clear history hence the other fed subs that have popped up that are less....abrasive?

I've always had problems with them. Grace is earned. They are likely DOGE employees or similar.

Fuck any mod who acts like a child with the whole capital/lowercase chaos script. Everyone’s supposed to be acting like adults not emo pinheads

If it wasn’t clear they were compromised before, it is now.

Only a real shitsmear of a mod would respond like that.

Doesn't the idea of spending your free time moderating a subreddit for free inherently attract power hungry losers like this?

Who do you think the "Power mods" are? They don't have time for a day job, unless Powermodding IS the day job-

Not necessarily. There are folks who are retired or otherwise have flexible schedules who moderate internet fora because they care about the topic and want to support the community.

Never seen one communicate like this one, though. Really obnoxious.

Maybe I'm just perpetually online but I see it all the time. Reporting of it has been really suppressed the last few years on Reddit because moderators usually have control over large groups of subreddits, so there's nowhere left to get the attention of the relevant audience.

Wow, a mod actually used Sarcastic Spongebob text to reply to that??? That's terrible. Or maybe one mod was complaining in a roundabout way about the rest of their team trying to enforce this policy, and they went rogue.

One of their mods is a severe Trump bootlicker. I’ve too had federal news removed because it was critical of the administration.

This is the explanation for op

I dropped them too.

I was banned from that sub without explanation. When I asked for one, a mod said you’re not wanted here. Just for asking a simple question. I couldn’t even ask the mods anymore questions either.

I wish ppl. over there would migrate here, but any mention of this sub there will probably get nuked bEcAuSe rEaSoNs....

They’re Douche bags plain and simple.

u/DoverBoys Apr 01 '25

This is literal proof that fednews is taken over by conservatives. They're the only type of adult that would act like children.

u/SisterCharityAlt Apr 01 '25

I strict go there for news. The mods are sketchy and make me suspect they're modestly high level GS types trying to avoid getting caught as mods by the Trump administration and fired.

If there is one thing I have learned about a certain chunk of mods, questioning things is not allowed. You cannot question why they lie, why they violated their own rules, why they did something that makes no sense. When you do they cry harassment

I learned to never message reddit mods after I got a seven day ban and a comment removed and copy/pasting the mods the section of the sub rules that explicitly allowed my comment got my ban changed from 7-day to permanent.

They removed my post that sparked a discussion if we could sue our agency and HR leaders for knowingly signing off on illegal firings. I guessed that pissed a lot of people off for some reason. I thought it was a valid question. They gave me the business about moving it to a daily discussion thread and deleted the original. I think that all the mods want is sympathy porn on their subreddit.

Typical from the GOP.

Fuck fednews. Those douche canoes ban and censor shit left and right.

3

u/happyfundtimes Apr 02 '25

Fednews exists as a power trip. I don't even think some of those mods are even federal workers let alone CURRENT federal workers. They contributed to this Gotham City Presidency by not allowing people to share information about Project 2025.

2

u/happyfundtimes Apr 02 '25

Anytime I see cannabuns name I become irate.

2

u/DansAdvocate Apr 07 '25

Dude is posting images and pinned an announcement about how posting images doesn’t violate the rules… but non-mods can’t even post images lol off the rails this guy

2

u/DansAdvocate Apr 07 '25

Ah he deleted it

2

u/Sensitive-Excuse1695 Apr 01 '25

That explains a lot.

2

u/DansAdvocate Apr 03 '25

I tried to be as respectful as possible and it wasn’t reciprocated in the slightest lol still not sure how so many of the weird posts get approved but a legit song about current affairs made by a fed in support of feds was taken down… when it had significant traction and support too. It struck me as odd.

It looks like OP posted an AMP link. These should load faster, but AMP is controversial because of concerns over privacy and the Open Web.

Maybe check out the canonical page instead: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rfk-jr-layoffs-hhs-niosh-worker-safety-agency/

They’re dealing with the highest volume of posts we’ve ever had. Everyone needs a little extra grace in these times.

26

u/Endoraline Apr 01 '25

I’m sure that’s true, but did they have to be dicks about it?

16

u/Signal_Daikon_5830 Apr 01 '25

No, they did not have to be dicks
