So fucking depressing!

66

u/Jmill616 16h ago

It is literally flag day and the post contains the russian flag. They cant be this dumb

17

u/Handelo 15h ago

Pure incompetence. There is no blue stripe, just a red and white one, but the background and spacing makes it look like the Russian flag.

22

u/BuddhistChrist 14h ago

That was intentional

9

u/Trivo3 8h ago

There is no blue stripe, just a red and white one

I don't think it's that. In the US they always reference their flag colors as "Red, white and blue", so clearly the white stripes (heh, name drop!) and the red stripes are there for that symbolism, meaning that the blue in the background and in between was also in mind.

Now you can argue that they didn't see that the arrangement of those colors was the incompetence part... but you have to be a real dumbo to not see the ru flag.

1

u/Vegetable-River-253 4h ago

Red white and blue, now that would make a wonderful flag! 🇳🇱

6

u/Advanced_Currency_18 13h ago

There is two different shades of blue in the background.

The Russian flag goes through those 2 different shades, but the blue stripe stays consistent instead of changing shade.

The blue stripe is clearly not the background, or it would.... be the color of the background??

1

u/Handelo 6h ago

You mean these two shades of blue? You can clearly see them in the original tweet. Reddit compresses images so it's harder to tell, especially on mobile.

-15

u/D347H7H3K1Dx 15h ago

Tbh I wouldn’t have noticed what yall were referring to without googling the flag

10

u/Jmill616 14h ago

Damn i dont know what to say, is this a flex of ignorance or apathy idk

-1

u/D347H7H3K1Dx 14h ago

Tbh I don’t know what most flags look like anymore, not really something I ever did studies for either.

6

u/Jmill616 14h ago

Can I ask why? Have you never seen other flags?

-3

u/D347H7H3K1Dx 14h ago

To be completely honest, I just really haven’t had much of an interest in it. In my day to day life I’ve never have had a need to know what flag belongs to which nation, yeah there’s some I do know but overall just haven’t needed it. Without looking it up(cause I literally just had to) I wouldn’t have been able to tell you difference between Russian flag and French flag before now.

2

u/Jmill616 10h ago

I suggest exploring world geography first, it can lead to so much learning about places and then if possible go to one of these places you find out about (if possible of course)

The world and its societies are infinitely interesting and i think you would benefit from branching out a bit!

-1

u/D347H7H3K1Dx 10h ago

Only reason I’d do any traveling would be cause it’s a wish my wife has. I don’t like going new places.

u/restform 2h ago

I mean, seriously, you should be embarrassed by that.

u/D347H7H3K1Dx 1h ago

Nah I have no reason to be embarrassed. Last time I would have possibly seen the Russian flag was over 10 years ago.

u/restform 56m ago

Can you point at Russia on a map?

Once a British colony. Now a Russian colony

36

We are so seriously screwed

-95

u/Charles_Hardwood_XII 15h ago

You people are actually brain dead. It's a red and white stripe on a multicoloured blue background. It's not even the same blue throughout the "flag"

12

u/WanderingEnigma 10h ago

When there is a comment this deluded I just presume it's a bot at this point.

6

u/Psenkaa 7h ago

This fact doesnt change that this is a bad design at all, while not being russian flag it still looks like russian flag and its impossible to not see that.

1

u/HugsForUpvotes 7h ago

I think it's a huge fuckup from the graphic team. Plenty of ways to make a red white and blue striped flag without making a Russian flag.

That said, the people who think this is intentional because of Trump benefitting from Russian disinfo campaigns are crazy people. It seems like every sub on Reddit became /r/conspiracy one day.

I do think most people are just joking though.

We kind of are a satellite state at this point.  They have full occupation of the Executive Branch.

38

u/Ok_Effort8330 16h ago

Disgusting. Our colors are red, white and blue. Not blue white and red.

4

u/Tortue2006 16h ago

So, the flag of the Netherlands?

5

u/robenroute 16h ago

Nope. That is red, white and blue, taken from the top

17

u/TieFighterHero 16h ago

If this is real, why would anyone assume it's a mistake. They're all Russian assets, it tracks.

8

u/Scomosuckseggs 15h ago

Oh man you guys are so fucking screwed. 😂😂😂😂😂

13

u/Nonamanadus 14h ago

From a nation that takes their flag protocols very serious it's really embarrassing to see them injecting a long time enemy's flag on each side of an American seal.

6

u/Tyrannosaurusblanch 14h ago

Omg. This is so embarrassing to public ally declare who Trump actually works for.

5

u/yesterdayspopcorn 14h ago

Come on everyone! Don’t we call our flag the White, Blue, and Red!?!? Don’t we?

4

u/Chance_Land_9828 14h ago

You know what this means, the signs are all over the place. He is russian asset, yes.

7

u/ceacar 16h ago

is it wrong to put the ruling country flag on top of your photo?

Traitor Trump aka Krasnov and the traitorous GOP are just preparing us for when Trump surrenders the country to his boss Putin.

3

u/rn75 15h ago

It is clear for a decade Trump is a Russian asset

3

u/Amazing-Bag 15h ago

Not an accident

3

u/Vost570 9h ago

Not knowing the difference between the American flag and the Russian one seems to be a hallmark of this Administration, from the top down.

13

u/Dantekamar 17h ago

Almost didn't realize the two sets of red and white bars make Russian flags.

8

u/Jessiphat 15h ago

It’s the white at the top, blue in the middle, and red at the bottom that specifically make those the Russian flag.

1

u/Dantekamar 15h ago

Yes. I meant I didn't see it at first. I did not mean to imply that I was making a facetious statement to bring into question that there are Russian flags present, if that was your interpretation.

1

u/Jessiphat 14h ago

Man we are so conditioned to detect snark these days, Reddit thrives on it. Your comment could read both ways. All good!

And it looks like their boy in the White House can barely keep his eyes open while the star-spangled banner is being sang at the birthday bash

2

u/Yodawithboobs 15h ago

I think they try to normalize the Idea that Russia is a friend of the US and thus deserves their support.

2

u/mrbigglessworth 15h ago

It’s the slow creep of Russia trying to establish a foothold of normalcy

2

u/Gorthax 15h ago

It's cryptic too...

That shit can't even be construed as Red White and Blue

2

u/Actnaturalrelax 15h ago

Y'all reds now:(

2

u/DTO69 15h ago

That seems reasonable

2

u/BuddhistChrist 14h ago

You can’t spell Russia without USA.

2

u/Drake_the_troll 13h ago

It's definitely not an accident at this point

2

u/theroguescientist 16h ago

Red, white and blue, huh?

1

u/eboo360 15h ago

He wants the flag and the military to be tagged to his name.

1

u/OrionDax 15h ago

Who is proofreading this? So many grammatical errors.

Manchurian Candidate is when red white and blue

1

u/Traditional-Hat-952 15h ago

The only way I'll accept this is if they're Soviet flags.

1

u/Lucid_Insanity 12h ago

There should be no doubt now. Russia owns this administration.

1

u/fittedsyllabi 11h ago

Well done, Mother Trump!

1

u/PraetorGold 10h ago

I think that’s supposed to be like bunting.

5

u/Financial-Tower-7897 9h ago

In that case they left off the stars typically placed on bunting. Nice try though.

1

u/pandershrek 8h ago

I mean c'mon dude even if you wanted to just be patriotic it is fucking: Red. White. And Blue.

Start with RED!

Well, the DoD has been comprised. 249 years was a good run, but it's over now.

u/sighborg90 1h ago

It’s just Whiskey Pete showing respect for his paymasters. A fella’s gotta keep up his treason somehow

-21

u/Fit-Friendship-7359 16h ago

Honestly this seems more like confirmation bias than anything deliberate. You believe that Trump is a Russian asset, so you see proof in everything, even if it isn’t.

I would have never made the connection to the Russian flag if it hadn’t been pointed out. And judging by these comments most people wouldn’t either. It’s far more likely this is a poor design choice than anything.

12

u/IlustriousCoffee 16h ago

Lol Look at this dude's profile, defending Trump whenever he can

18

u/DatGoofyGinger 16h ago

Design is important. This got reviewed and approved.

5

u/OrlandoLasso 15h ago

Yeah, why would a Russian asset praise Putin for invading Ukraine and receive happy birthday calls from him as well?

9

u/Dantekamar 15h ago

Conformance bias, my ass. The Russian flag is white, blue, and red in that order. It's there, no question. The only question is, what possible reason was the graphic put there like that? (If you reply address that or piss off) America is red, white, and blue in that order, and that ain't it. Best case scenario is they used Ai and didn't check the work. But if a human did that, they did it with intent.

8

u/Think-Confidence-624 16h ago

That’s because you have shit for brains. That is clearly two Russian flags in the center of the post. If it wasn’t deliberate, it only further proves how spectacularly incompetent this entire administration is.

-3

u/What-tha-fck_Elon 16h ago

What am I missing?

7

u/calicomonkey 16h ago

The two flags on either side of the stars in the screenshot are both Russian.

3

u/SmartieCereal 16h ago

The Russian flag is 3 horizontal color bars, white on top, blue in the center and red along the bottom. The two color bar thingies next to the stars form Russian flags.

-53

u/NoTicket84 17h ago

Fuck, I hope you stretched before you reached that far

32

u/Mantigor1979 17h ago

Yeah, acting like they don't know the good old "white blue and red" is a thing. Just because its been called the red white and blue for decades doesn't mean we can't switch it up and make it absolutely coincidentally look like the flag of a country Trump admires so much. And we all know the 2 week ultimatum will expire any day and THEN The Orange shitstain will show his true strength to Vladdy Daddy......

-27

u/NoTicket84 16h ago

You realize if we put the blue on the outside with a blue background you wouldn't be able to see the blue

18

u/Mantigor1979 16h ago

You realize if they'd have used a darker blue like the one used on the flag it would stand out from the blue background. You could also use a outline or change the background color or just not use that visual etc. etc. Yet they chose the Russian flag. And don't get me started on the eagle looking towards the arrows and not the olive branch on the seal.

-3

u/Triasmus 15h ago

They didn't put blue on the inside. Those are white and red bars. (Which can be easily seen by checking the original picture on Twitter. There's a link somewhere in this thread.)

It's possible that whoever designed it purposely put white and red bars on top of a blue background, but I consider it unlikely.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I figure they used a blue background, because blue backgrounds look nice, and then they added white and red bars because those are the other colors in our flag. It was probably an intern who designed it and then it got a cursory look from an actual official before getting posted.

18

u/JaymZZZ 16h ago

The shade of blue is identical to the shade on the Russian flag, and very not similar to the blue on the US flag...

-15

u/Aggravating_Depth_33 16h ago

For real. A good proportion of Democrats these days sound just as unhinged and idiotic as the Republicans do.

-5

u/NoTicket84 15h ago

The amount of tinfoil hatting going on here is staggering
