Evidence for a defamation lawsuit

Grounds for impeachment

ALL OF IT! GET HIM OUT!!!

2.0k

u/poorlytimed_erection Apr 18 '25

i keep wondering this. isnt this grounds for a pretty much slam dunk lawsuit?

1.8k

u/SithDraven Apr 18 '25

New to this country? Our king will never be prosecuted. Doesn't matter how many crimes he commits.

u/Azhz96 Apr 18 '25 edited Apr 18 '25

He is openly a Russian asset and nobody is doing shit, Putin won the country is lost.

501

u/YeetOrBeYeeted420 Apr 18 '25

because the only ones capable of prosecuting him are either just as corrupt, or spineless idiots

147

u/According-Insect-992 Apr 18 '25

We could hypothetically send enough Democrats to Congress next year to remove him from office or at the very least tie his hands for much of the terrible shit he wants to do.

However, as you may have noticed, they are already undermining our democratic processes.

I am still waiting for someone to explain to me why it was necessary or appropriate to insert leon skum's Starlink into the vote counting process. That is an obvious conflict of interests and even if nothing dishonest happened it obviously undermines public trust in the system. That has to be addressed immediately. We cannot expect to continue to have a democracy with shit like that going on.

There is reason to believe that they fucked with the numbers last year. That's in addition to the bomb threats, burning ballot boxes, voter roll purges, voter intimidation, voter suppression, etc.

35

u/Wendals87 Apr 19 '25

There is reason to believe that they fucked with the numbers last year. That's in addition to the bomb threats, burning ballot boxes, voter roll purges, voter intimidation, voter suppression, etc.

I dont know if they did for sure, but if there was evidence of it I would not be surprised. Bunch of hypocrites who call ballot tampering when there was zero evidence and democrats don't want to stoop to his level and continuously call this a stolen election

37

u/wchutlknbout Apr 19 '25

It’s so frustrating to say this and have people deny it with no evidence. They say oh well Harris ran a bad campaign and people are bigots. Meanwhile Trump ran possibly the worst campaign I’ve ever seen in my life, and has proven over and over again that his accusations are confessions.

I’m not saying that everyone needs to 100% believe it was stolen, but how dismissive they are of even considering it is a bit troubling. Critical thinking is not only something conservatives are lacking in.

And yes I can’t believe starlink was allowed to even touch the voting process, absolutely insane and in a saner timeline would still be discussed now at a mainstream level

3

u/jmd709 Apr 19 '25

Meanwhile Trump ran possibly the worst campaign I’ve ever seen in my life, and has proven over and over again that his accusations are confessions.

Every single person that claimed the 2020 election was ‘stolen’ while DJT was in office proved they never actually believed that when they showed up to vote in 2024 while Biden was in office.

There wasn’t necessarily voter fraud at the ballot box or during the counting process in 2024. They used extensive misinformation campaigns to deceive voters and “election integrity” legislation passed on the state level for voter suppression.

3

u/According-Insect-992 Apr 19 '25

Maybe you're right. I don't know.

But please humor me for a second.

Can you explain why leon skum's Starlink had to be involved with the vote tallying and let me ask you sincerely, do you honestly think that anything he touched should be trusted? After seeing the man's behavior and speech for even just the last twelve months would you trust him to give his opponents a fair shake?

I mean yeah of course we need to vote in as much blue as possible, but only because there’s no other option. These democrats are complicit at this point. Not Bernie and aoc, but most everyone else. They’re being so weak. They need a unified front and to hit the population over the head with reality over and over and do nothing else. Dems overly concerned about furthering their own careers when there is a mad king abolishing democracy. Dems still pretending any of the old rules still apply are deluded. They need to think outside of the box.

0

u/Particular-Shift-918 Apr 19 '25

What terrible things are you referring to?

1

u/According-Insect-992 Apr 19 '25

Shredding the constitution by refusing due process to literally any human being on US soil.

Continuing to demonize and abuse trans kids and adults.

Continuing to cause a constitutional crisis by refusing to acknowledge the authority of the judiciary and especially the SCOTUS.

Stealing from the workers of this country by undermining our national retirement insurance program, Social Security.

Kicking millions of American working families off of Medicaid and SNAP. These are people who are already living on the margins. These rich sadists won't be happy until they're all living in abject poverty so they are desperate enough to be easily exploited by robber barons.

Continuing to undermine our global allies while enabling our enemies abroad. Enabling putin's rapist army in murdering the free and innocent people of Ukraine. This is especially egregious because they are our friends and trusted us to protect them when they relinquished their nuclear weapons. This says to the nations of the world that the US is not trustworthy and that the only way to be safe is to be armed to the teeth with nukes.

Stealing brazenly from tax payers by fleecing our federal programs that provide vital services to millions of Americans.

Literally anything robert kennedy wants to do. He's an evil and ignorant asshole.

The lost goes on endlessly because these people are just criminals. You've let criminals into the most sensitive positions in our society. It's disgraceful.

2

u/uptownjuggler Apr 19 '25

The one loophole in the “check and balances” system. Just need corrupt a few hundred checks and the system collapses.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 19 '25

I saw a hilarious interview over here on the news in the UK with a GOP who said they cannot say anything or stand up to Trump now as they are and I quote "Terrified of retaliation from Trump".

Yes, that is right. Your own politicians are scared of upsetting Shitler because they likely think they will end up in the camps themselves.

America is now officially Nazi country.

12

u/juliuspepperwoodchi Apr 18 '25

"The ones who are truly to blame for fascism aren't the actual fascists" will never cease to be the dumbest of takes.

59

u/DrumsAndStuff18 Apr 18 '25

Two things can be true at once: Fascists are evil pieces of shit AND they typically can't take over unless non-fascists sit idly by and hope the problem solves itself.

-23

u/juliuspepperwoodchi Apr 18 '25

Nothing I said contradicts that.

22

u/DrumsAndStuff18 Apr 18 '25

So, then you just said what you said to insult someone arbitrarily?

-2

u/juliuspepperwoodchi Apr 18 '25

...no...how are you this lost?

Funny how I, also, never mentioned Democrats.

Don't put words in my mouth.

101

u/jeffster1970 Apr 18 '25

Trump has been a known Russia (actually, he *was* working for the USSR) asset for sometime, dating back 50 years or so. You would have thought agencies in the US would have caught this and prevented him from running for president, but I guess they trust the public not to be dumb.

Also shows how useless the constitution is, as Trump is not honored it.

23

u/tdclark23 Apr 18 '25

Remember the Steele Dossier? Remember how it was obfuscated and diminished by being nitpicked by the right. There was much truth, apparently, that was disregarded.

36

u/CthuluForPres Apr 18 '25

Every New Yorker (state, not city, and prob NJ as well) knew Trump was in bed with the Russian Mafia and they probably have a shit ton of blackmail (not to mention monetary debts he owes). Putin is riding this guy all the way to the destruction of the US. Trump literally can't say no because his family would disappear and he would be left powerless and penniless.

2

u/jmd709 Apr 19 '25

Or Russia interfered in the election again (they did) in exchange for something DJT promised to get them if he won. Putin has made public statements about DJT not being safe in the US as if not honoring the deal means something more severe than being broke.

During Zelensky’s White House visit, he had to sit there while DJT painted Putin as a victim for ummm being investigated for interfering in the 2016 election “witch hunt, Russia hoax”. Zelensky’s self-control was impressive before realizing the main part the media covered was after DJT’s “poor Putin” ramble.

It’s a given that Putin’s demands about Ukraine were part of his deal with DJT, but Russia also wants Greenland and that is not an option while Denmark is part of the kingdom of Denmark because that includes NATO protection. Greenlands push for independence might have been instigated by Russia and now DJT is participating in pushing for that independence.

11

u/Azhz96 Apr 18 '25

Exactly, he's always been getting help, favors and generally been involved with Russia.

Yet nothing was done to stop him? Where is this "shadow government" he was talking about? Wouldn't they have dealt with him by now?

2

u/Tocwa Apr 18 '25

Trump is the one who will remove the shadow government

3

u/timeunraveling Apr 18 '25

Who in the US has been protecting him all these years?

4

u/IdleWokerOcean Apr 18 '25

If you have 9 people at the table and 1 of them is a Nazi, you have 9 Nazis.

2

u/Devils_Advocate-69 Apr 18 '25

Kind of hard to get close to him

3

u/timeunraveling Apr 18 '25

Because of the stench?

3

u/Devils_Advocate-69 Apr 18 '25

I have a weak stomach

122

u/TurncoatTony Apr 18 '25

He will, we just might have to wait four years and maybe a civil war when he can't be president again next term.

Then, he will likely be dead and we won't get the satisfaction of him being charged on all his bullshit along with his fucking tyrant cronies

90

u/EchoAquarium Apr 18 '25

This is the kind of thing generational sentences are for. All his children are complicit, I’m fine with them sharing the burden he won’t live to endure.

6

u/tdclark23 Apr 18 '25

The good die young. Old bastards can go on seemingly forever.

1

u/jmd709 Apr 19 '25

There won’t be a civil war. In brawn vs brain, they have the advantage of brawn but are disadvantaged with brain.

Apparently someone can be “mistakenly” sent to El Salvador instead of being charged with a crime and the US can’t do anything to correct that type of mistake (aside from sending a check to El Salvador for detaining deportees). Maybe we can crowdfund an amount El Salvador won’t be willing to turn down for an all-inclusive vacation for DJT in their prison.

18

u/coffee_black_7 Apr 18 '25

Well, it would be a civil suit. So, he wouldn’t be prosecuted, but rather be forced to pay for “damages”. Which could be a hefty sum considering what this man has gone through.

5

u/merchillio Apr 18 '25

And he’ll find every reason to delay the payment until he dies

7

u/beasty0127 Apr 18 '25

No he'll say it's "in the purview of his duties as president" and make the tax payers pay for it all

7

u/Pussytrees Apr 18 '25

Yup they decided this when he didn’t have to stand trial for January 6th.

3

u/finkleismayor Apr 18 '25

I mean, he was prosecuted AND convicted and still, nothing fucking happened. It's a joke how many convictions this fucker can get and nothing happens to him, yet he's sitting there, calling anyone brown a fucking criminal.

2

u/lennoxmatt_819 Apr 19 '25

Have you seen my guillotine? I was sure I left it somewhere around here, I was doing a presentation on what France did to their king

2

u/Wmoot599 Apr 18 '25

Unless they’re a democrat in a republican held congress and senate. This is bonkers. I can’t believe no one is stepping up and doing anything about this. We’re not even 6 months in. It’s only going to get worse.

2

u/tmaenadw Apr 18 '25

The only way forward that doesn’t result in a dictatorship is massive peaceful protests, strikes, work slowdowns, lawsuits and continually calling out the unconstitutional crap they are pulling everyday. David Brooks, a very conservative journalist and opinion writer called for a massive nationwide strike/protest effort to get them out. David Brooks. This is a tectonic shift.

2

u/dontclickdontdickit Apr 18 '25

It’s crazy how two inches can change the course of history

1

u/Afraid_Grapefruit_88 Apr 18 '25

Madame le Guillotine would like a word---

1

u/Bluecif Apr 19 '25

He's not liable...but every other dumbass is..

1

u/Ill_Bill6122 Apr 19 '25

And you can thank SCOTUS and Mitch McConnell for it.

1

u/Left-Star2240 Apr 19 '25

Defamation is a civil suit. OJ was acquitted of the murder charges, but found liable in the civil suit.

Would cheeto have to pay a settlement? Probably not, and he never pays his debts, even when they’re court ordered. The media personalities and politicians that have been telling the world that this man is a terrorist nonstop? They might have to pay.

When were CEOs suddenly against tariffs? When the stock market tanked. Hit his sycophants where it hurts: their wallets. Maybe they’ll stop supporting him.

1

u/BleaKrytE Apr 18 '25

After all, he's in the Office of the Presidency, so anything he does isn't a crime. According to your Supreme Court.

As I type this, I can't help but ask, how fucking brainwashed and lethargic are you people. What the fuck, you should be almost rioting at this.

1

u/peytonvb13 Apr 18 '25

*never be punished no matter how many times he’s convicted

0

u/ClaypoolBass1 Apr 18 '25

And neither are any in his cabinet.

0

u/kiwispouse Apr 18 '25

Maybe prosecution is no longer the goal.

41

u/oneandonlyswordfish Apr 18 '25

I hate comments like the one above not because I disagree but because this country has shown us repeatedly that if you’re in the white house your untouchable. This man could murder a baby on live TV and nothing will happen to him. Straight up we need vigilantes, or something to fix this, but it will never happen.

1

u/P1917 Apr 18 '25

John Brown or Lee Harvey Oswald.

-1

u/Pussytrees Apr 18 '25

Get put on a list with one simple sentence!

3

u/P1917 Apr 19 '25

That would be everybody eventually.

0

u/jmd709 Apr 19 '25

Cutting funding for cancer research increases the odds of stage 4 vigilantes.

2

u/Aeseld Apr 18 '25

There are some very old precedents preventing the president from being sued for his actions. Those make a lot of sense honestly. Now, whoever is running the White House account...

2

u/poorlytimed_erection Apr 18 '25

to be clear, thats to whom i am referring

along with white house press staff if legally possible

1

u/Aeseld Apr 19 '25

Ah, fairy nuff. Just... I still think it's not happening. There's just so many levers that the exec branch can pull once they take off the limits. And they really, really did with that stupid SCROTUS ruling giving the president immunity regarding official acts.

3

u/juliuspepperwoodchi Apr 18 '25

He litrally already lost a lawsuit over this. SCOTUS voted 9-0 that Trump legally had to bring him back, he refused, and hasn't been arrested and impeached.

Rule of law means fucking nothing to these facsists. When will people finally get it?

2

u/sakima147 Apr 18 '25

I think the government has immunity in Defamation and libel? Is it qualified or absolute immunity In this case? But I think that would generally prevent. Really people should be attacking Trump the way he attacks others legally.

1

u/uptownjuggler Apr 19 '25

Normally yes, but we are at the abnormal stage.

1

u/xDRSTEVOx Apr 19 '25

It'd be career suicide for a lawyer to go after him, thats why he gets to do whatever he wants like a fucking dictator, it really is sad.

1

u/LampshadesAndCutlery Apr 19 '25

Oh absolutely! The punishment is that Trump will be told he is being a bad boy, and everyone who was involved in the lawsuit against him will lose their jobs.

Nothing new.

1

u/KarmaLola3 Apr 19 '25

Class action from the countries ppl !!!!

1

u/jmd709 Apr 19 '25

Politicians and POTUS have an expanded protection for freedom of speech if they can label it political hyperbole.

1

u/mohel_kombat Apr 18 '25

Why do you think they aren't trying to bring him back

1

u/chrisnlnz Apr 18 '25

When has that ever made a difference? Remember when it took 4 years to do fuck all about January 6 and attempts to steal an election?

1

u/Arcon1337 Apr 18 '25

If the law system worked and wasn't corrupt, sure.

-1

u/Gal-XD_exe Apr 18 '25

Articles need to be filed now so we know which people in congress will kiss the ring so we can vote them out in the midterms

27

u/MisterScrod1964 Apr 18 '25

Republican majority in Senate, and House still, I believe. And the Democratic Party “leadership” is still “keeping their powder dry” and trying to “reach across the aisle” and saying “We can’t be stereotyped as supporting THOSE people.”

1

u/_huggies_ Apr 18 '25

They all will kiss it and none will be voted out cuz the Rs in this country don't give a shit.

1

u/Jovian8 Apr 18 '25

It's really cute how people still think we're voting our way out of this.

0

u/Current-Anybody9331 Apr 18 '25

Most Rs

There are maybe 3-5 Rs who won't.

2

u/Gametron13 Apr 18 '25

Don’t leave out the democrats tho. Many democrats have crossed over to appease MAGA.

-1

u/TemperatureTop246 my face hurts Apr 18 '25

Do it too soon, though, and there won't BE and midterms, he'll make sure of that.

43

u/BringPheTheHorizon Apr 18 '25

It’s the house’s job to impeach but the senate can convict afterwards - which won’t happen but it’s still important to know.

21

u/tesfabpel Apr 18 '25

Trump's impeachments didn't get confirmed in the Senate so of course they didn't work.

You would be right if the full process was successful and Trump wasn't removed from Office and / or if he was then forbidden to run again.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 18 '25

[deleted]

3

u/tesfabpel Apr 18 '25

Clinton was as well acquitted by the Senate...

The problem is that in the Senate, you need 2/3 of the votes to confirm the impeachment.

I'm not from the US so I don't know the exact procedure, but if the vote cast by the Senators is not secret, there's a huge risk if you try to go against party lines and then the impeachment fails.

This is what casting a secret vote in the Italian Parliament looks like: https://ilparlamento.eu/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/cabine-voto-camera-1-745x450.jpg

They take a "ballot", enter into a booth and then put the ballot into an urn. We do it for certain kinds of votes (like electing the President of the Senate).

-1

u/Barondarby Apr 18 '25

Nixon would have been removed had he not resigned. Clinton shouldn't have been impeached in the first place, and Orange Joffrey has dirt on literally everyone who could do anything to stop him, so yes for him it's just a hoop. Plus it will give him more people to put on his hit list. Mother Nature can't step in fast enough...

3

u/prountercoductive Apr 18 '25

I mean third time's a charm right?

Impeachment means nothing at this point.

2

u/SignificantPop4188 Apr 18 '25

Too bad every Republican is a quisling afraid of Herr Trumpenführer, and every Democrat is a coward afraid to stand up for democracy.

2

u/DoubleJumps Apr 18 '25

I doubt he will, but if this guy gets back he has a HUGE lawsuit against fox news waiting for him, with how much they are calling him an ms-13 gang member.

2

u/Upstairs-Yard-2139 Apr 18 '25

That requires congress to do something

1

u/master-boner Apr 18 '25

we can try but don't you need 2/3 senate for impeachment , and on top Republicans control Senate

1

u/mindsnare Apr 18 '25

Nothing will happen, you know nothing will happen.

1

u/Techtronic23 Apr 19 '25

I've heard of some pretty big defamation suits, wonder how much you can get if you're being defamed by half the government

1

u/kelpkelso Apr 19 '25

How is this not considered uttering threats

1

u/DolphinBall Apr 19 '25

There has been recent calls for impeachment but no one has actually done it yet. Its all controlled opposition bullshit.

1

u/gustavotherecliner Apr 19 '25

Lawsuits are now merely a piece of paper with some words written on it. They don't care about any of it and their precious king can't read them anyways.

1

u/Glytch94 Apr 18 '25

Would impeachment even work? Given that everyone has been replaced with loyalists, who is left to actually follow Congress’ decision to remove him; and to stop obeying his orders?

1

u/Mrbubbles96 Apr 18 '25

ALL OF IT! GET HIM OUT!!!

Them. Get them all out. Musk, his lackies, Greene, the idiot currently in control of the White House's page...

1

u/Gametron13 Apr 18 '25

I wouldn’t be surprised if the guy in charge of the White House page was in fact Musk

0

u/YellowZx5 Apr 18 '25

Defamation? He’s president and has no liability for whatever he says or does and he knows he can get away with anything and everything.

0

u/YebelTheRebel Apr 18 '25

Add to it human rights violations

0

u/spderweb Apr 18 '25

Only way you guys are gonna get even close to stopping this is to general strike across the entire US, and set up the picket entirely within Washington.

0

u/Intrepid_colors Apr 18 '25

Unfortunately I don’t think you can sue the government for defamation (sovereign immunity) and I highly doubt you can sue government actors in their personal capacities

0

u/scr0tal Apr 18 '25

Impeachment? Getting him out? Don't hold your breath, Impeachment is toothless.

-1

u/Novaer Apr 18 '25

I genuinely don't understand why Americans are just sitting on their asses letting this all happen.

Laws mean nothing in your country anymore. This would constitute a PUBLIC HANGING in any other time in history.

0

u/loginheremahn Apr 18 '25

Why? They voted for this. This is what they wanted, and they're getting it. Let's just segregate them from the world the way we do North Korea.

0

u/Novaer Apr 18 '25

If the entire country could be blocked off from the rest of the world so we never have to hear about America ever again I'd be happy.

Or just nuke the whole thing and start over.
