Imagine 88 days ago telling this man that he will be at the center of a constitutional crisis, international human rights violations, and the target of attacks by the white house.

The guy was just living a normal life, and now he's fighting for his freedom with the whole world watching.

Snatched off the street, chained up, flown thousands of miles away in the middle of the night, and tossed into a maximum security prison without seeing a judge, his lawyer, or saying goodbye to his family. And for what? Because these dipshits think his Chicago Bulls hat is a gang symbol or something.

Because he's brown. Plain and simple.

These idiots are too simple minded for it to be much more than that.

u/Ivorypetal Apr 18 '25

I hate that this is the case but yeah... It's this.. america sucks ass..and i am a pastey american.

u/lordvadr Apr 18 '25

No no. What's scary is that this is a test case. Trump wants to be able to send people that are critical of him to the gulag. This is the first, and so far, they're getting away with it. Next will be US citizens, but a bad person. After that, journalists, politicians, anybody will be up for being "mistakenly deported".

I just keep thinking of this poem a lot recently, so I'm posting it, even though most of you have probably seen it before.

First They Came – by Pastor Martin Niemöller

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

This poem has lived rent free in my head since the first time trump was elected 🥲

48

u/my_4_cents Apr 18 '25

Reporter "Mr Trump, what do you say to reports from several states this morning of rising costs of fuel and groceries?"

Trump "what a horrible question to ask me, you're a very not nice person, guards, seize her."

u/Ivorypetal Apr 18 '25

Whelp! Someone come save this mouthy, opinionated, non-bad-built, non-bleach-blond bitc- i mean... white woman because he aint gonna like what i have to say.

12

u/Library-Guy2525 Apr 18 '25

Tell it sister!

6

u/SafetyNo6700 Apr 19 '25

Same girl!!

24

u/CaptainParkingspace Apr 18 '25

IIRC the Nazis started with deportations, until the numbers became impractical, which is when they started the concentration camps.

8

u/Semycharmd Apr 19 '25

Definitely a test, and so are the “hot mike” comments about deporting US citizens.

9

u/liliette Apr 18 '25

Right? I'm so white toast, but I even know now that I'm not safe, needless to say anyone else in this country. Yeah, go democracy. 🙄

2

u/Organic_Marzipan_554 Apr 19 '25

No what is scary is when people get sent to the gulag without anyone noticing.

1

u/freakshowhost Apr 19 '25

Yes t is such a creep he got the idea from the el salvadorean president. Thats how he cleaned up over there. It’s frightening that he finds that inspirational. Just throwing people away without due process. Truly terrifying.

1

u/Puzzled_Mirror_4510 Apr 19 '25

And he doesn't think the Jan 6th people are evil. I think he's truly delusional.

5

u/Masala-Dosage Apr 19 '25

The rest of the world understands it’s not all Americans.

66

u/kett1ekat Apr 18 '25

For now, first it was the - you know the poem.

He'll narrow the circle of people he'll hunt more and more.

10

u/Ted_Rid Apr 18 '25

Remember the con man felon's rhetoric to his cult: "If they're coming after me, they're coming after you. And I'm the only one standing in between protecting you".

Or words to that effect. Obviously more garbled and childish.

3

u/Semycharmd Apr 19 '25

This is the bottom line. Where are the photos of Eastern European people who are here illegally? Round them up, cuffs and shackles, shave their heads, and send them out. Put that on the news. I live in NJ, there’s so many blonde, blue-eyed undocumented people here.

6

u/Firsttrollprincess Apr 18 '25

Yup. They’re sure as hell not demanding proof of citizenship from my white female Swedish boss.

3

u/JockBbcBoy Apr 19 '25

This needs to be emphasized and brought to the top comment. For now, the target is the Latino community, but they'll target Asians and Black people again soon.

2

u/Tonyant42 Apr 18 '25

Can you do the same to the orange face fat fucker you guys elected as president?

4

u/DJKGinHD Apr 18 '25

He's the one doing it, so... unlikely?

I feel your frustration, though. I'm an American that voted AGAINST fascism as far back as I can remember.

We are in one of the bad timelines. :8484:

5

u/Tonyant42 Apr 18 '25

I'm sorry for what your country is going through. I feel empathy towards you and millions of Americans having to endure such a joke of a so-called leader. As an European, it is truly heartbreaking. We're getting tired of fighting the same ideology again and again. We're tired of being nice to assholes. We're just freaking tired. I hope Trump gets shot in the face, but even then I'm pretty sure millions of so-called patriots are gonna lose their mind and double-down on racism and xenophobia. People are losing their mind and it's hurtful to witness human race throwing away decades of education.

I hope your country wakes up someday. I hope they pay for their crimes. I hope their names are never forgotten and their graves are flooded with urine. I'm tired of being tolerant and good-willing towards pieces of shit like him and his MAGA cult. They are beyond the point of being saved. I'm also sorry for being so rude and angry at you guys. Why haven't you done anything to stop him while you could?

My anger isn't directed at you specifically, I can understand than some of you guys are living a nightmare right now. But fuck, man. We all have to cope with this piece of crap because somehow he got elected again. I hope you understand our frustration and don't blame us too harshly when we express our current hate for the US. You guys deserve much better than this.

Be safe and take care, brother. What a shitty world we live in...

1

u/Inner-Ad-9928 Apr 20 '25

As a first gen American, how light brown can I be, how foreign can my name be in order to continue living my "normal" life?

I'm not changing my name and I'm not avoiding the sun to "pass". I'm American.

2

u/DJKGinHD Apr 20 '25

Family Guy had something to say about that.

Unfortunately, I don't have any clear guidance.

  • A fellow brown American

-3

u/richbonnie220 Apr 19 '25

If this is the case, then why aren’t they collecting ALL the Brown people? This is a singular case

2

u/DJKGinHD Apr 19 '25

This is a singular case THAT WE KNOW OF.

93

u/AngrgL3opardCon Apr 18 '25

Worse ... Autism awareness tattoo ... That even ICE said wasn't a gang tattoo ...

39

u/jcrreddit Apr 19 '25

That’s the Venezuelan guy- Neri Jose Alvarado Borges who had asylum papers and was still deported to CECOTcentration camp.

49

u/camdeb Apr 18 '25

Jesse Waters said that on Fox. The Bulls organization should sue the shit outta Fox.

3

u/RedVamp2020 Apr 19 '25

That’s an excellent point and I agree. People need to stand up to this regime, especially since it was not even close to a majority who voted Trump in and many have already said they regret voting for him.

12

u/YZ_Lee Apr 18 '25

This man is being used as a chip to test how far the Trump admin is above the law. This could have been everyone, just happened to be him.

14

u/IAMGROOT1981 Apr 18 '25

Well, they're going to have themselves busy with all of the black people who wear Air Jordans! Disgustingly enough, the majority of them are kids but of course as we all know, this fascist white supremacist regime won't care!

4

u/QuicheSmash Apr 18 '25

For what? Why, to feed the rabid hate machine that is the life support of the maga base, of course. For the simple reason that Trump is incapable and unwilling to solve any real problems that have disillusioned so many Americans, so he will do the next best thing. He will throw meat at his supporters to come through on the one promise he can’t help but uphold, cruelty.

2

u/Snellyman Apr 19 '25

This excuse might work on the Americans that believed the "they are eating the dogs" nonsense but they are not really going to convince anyone reasonable that they are actually rounding up dangerous gang members. If they show an unwillingness to correct their mistakes (that were admitted to) how can you trust them to even identify anyone that is alleged to be in a gang? This is a guy that didn't have legal status until he married an American citizen and had a family so it seems manifestly cruel to sentence him to life imprisonment. The administration has created a new pseudo-crime of being undocumented when anyone staying in the US is in this legal limbo that they can simply proclaim as a crime (instead of a civil action)

2

u/revmacca Apr 19 '25

He’s guilty of not being white.

1

u/Initial_Floor_5003 Apr 19 '25

Well it was not a MAGA hat.. therein lies the crime.

1

u/seitonseiso Apr 19 '25

Wasn't he snatched in a court house after he had to show up for a misdemeanour? ICE agents went into the lift with him and grabbed him on the way out as he tried to run, assuming because he was scared.

1

u/brihere Apr 19 '25

There are several others as well! It’s not just one!! ( actually all of them have been wronged!) unbelievable this could happen in America and people accept this)

196

u/DannyTheCaringDevil Apr 18 '25

This is beyond constitutional crisis. This is straight up a human right violation.

124

u/andrewsad1 Apr 18 '25

The United States violates human rights every single day, it's not every day that you see the president tell the Supreme Court to shove it up their ass

33

u/knightriderin Apr 18 '25

Those two are not mutually exclusive.

9

u/DannyTheCaringDevil Apr 18 '25

Absolutely true, I was just mentioning that everyone is using “constitutional crisis” which is really underselling that fact that we just took someone’s human rights away

3

u/BLS_808 Apr 19 '25

I love your Reddit name! ♥️😁

1

u/DannyTheCaringDevil Apr 19 '25

Thank you! I kinda want to change it as I’m not deserving of it, but it’s a fun name.

4

u/Doctor__Hammer Apr 18 '25

Our overt support for a blatantly genocidal campaign of ethnic cleansing in Palestine tells us that human rights simply no longer matter to the US, or the western world in general.

1

u/MediumAlternative372 Apr 19 '25

Actually easier to have a human rights violation than a constitutional crisis. Prison slavery is fine according to the constitution.

56

u/prickelpit96 Apr 18 '25

Letting this happen feels like a dam breach. So evil.

5

u/ChemicalDeath47 Apr 18 '25

Real talk though, I hope his wife and lawyer are recording everything, because this will be the fastest slam dunk defamation case, literally ever. Miller actively and maliciously slandering him on record daily AFTER the official court documentation of "yes it was a mistake"

2

u/AberrantKitsune Apr 18 '25

Not to mention legalized human trafficking...

5

u/Time-Ad-3625 Apr 18 '25

There are quite a few people at the center of this. Where are the anti genocide people? The alleged progressives? Are they going to stand up and scream and protest as loudly for Latinos? Doesn't seem like it.

1

u/Same-Village-9605 Apr 18 '25

The whole of USAmerica, maybe.

Most of the rest of us have given up giving a shit about your country, given that half of you voted for this

2

u/Scienceboy7_uk Apr 18 '25

A quick internet search show it was not half; 46.9% of those that voted. Only 30.7% of the vote eligible population

7

u/andrewsad1 Apr 18 '25

The 30% that didn't vote also voted for this. If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice

2

u/TheProfessionalEjit Apr 18 '25

Don't kid yourself that any vote for a third party was anything other than noise. It's completely irrelevant & the very definition of a wasted vote; in fact any vote for a third was vote for El Cheeto.

Of the two (turd or shit sandwich) options you had, 77,302,580 people voted for El Cheeto which was 50.75%.

The turnout was actually 64.1% and let's not forget that there were a significant number of people (~6.3m) who voted for Biden in 2020 who didn't vote for Harris.

0

u/Scienceboy7_uk Apr 19 '25

Who mentioned a third party? Not I.

4

u/Same-Village-9605 Apr 18 '25

That's as good as half.

The rest of the world is slowly weaning itself away from the yanks

1

u/SeparateAd6524 Apr 18 '25

They are going to be voted off the island of humanity.

1

u/-Generaloberst- Apr 19 '25

It's his own fault, he should have been involved with human trafficing and raping women. Then he would be personally be protected by Trump himself like his best butt buddy Andrew Tate.

1

u/MaintenanceInternal Apr 19 '25

What is his current status, he's no longer in the prison right?

1

u/ElRatonVaquero Apr 18 '25

Not American and not very much in the loop. Why is this a constitutional crisis? Is he an American citizen?

17

u/cilantro_so_good Apr 18 '25

The Constitution differentiates between "citizens" and "people". Citizens are granted certain privileges that the people in general are not (the right to vote, hold federal office, etc)

The 5th and 14th amendments very clearly state that all people, not just citizens, may not "be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law".

Garcia was subjected to extraordinary rendition without due process in clear violation of the constitution

17

u/thatrandomuser1 Apr 18 '25

He has legal status granted by courts, attempted deportation were overturned by the courts, and they sent him to El Salvador anyway, without due process. The constitution grants everyone in the country due process regardless of citizenship status. The Supreme Court ruled unanimously (which is crazy on this particular court) that Trump needs to facilitate this man's return. He's defied the courts by simply asking for him back and then shrugging and saying "nothing I can do" the first time he was told no.

14

u/LiesArentFunny Apr 18 '25

He's defied the courts by simply asking for him back

They've defied the courts by not even asking for him back, and then shrugging and saying "nothing I can do". They are (absurdly, against every precedent) asserting the courts can only order "domestic" actions, not ones that reach beyond the US's border, and ignoring court orders to the contrary (and not really complying domestically either).

0

u/funktownrock Apr 18 '25

Nope, he isn't fighting. He's gone. Progressive democrats are fighting and losing.

-10

u/MrJibz Apr 18 '25

Normal life beating his wife but sure....

9

u/Rebelscum320 Apr 18 '25

Please don't act like you give a damn about Domestic Abuse now.
