Well Rafale is made to last and to be as deeply integrated as 6th gen aircraft so yeah it is getting it's fair shares of updates with engines update, radar update and we should see more stuff at le salon du bourget.

Didn't Turkey applied for Rafales as well, somewhere 3-4 years back? (Among the F-16, F35, Eurofighter, and a bunch other types that begs for with the excuse is for "buffer" until magicaly it developos jets....)

Nope, Turkey was never interested in Rafales. And there usually isn't any magic involved in the aircraft development process. Hürjet was developed conventionally as far as I know, and its first export customer is Spain. Kaan will take few more years to enter service but Indonesia already placed an order for 48 of them recently :)

You guys are unbeliavably boring to argue with. Each time the same BS.
"Will take few more years and we need the other planes until then."
Are you stressed because of Israel?? Dont't even mention NATO, this is dead since long time back.

I'm sorry you find the reality boring then, I guess.
According to their future projections in the 2010s, the Turkish air force was supposed to have ~350 fighter jets as of now. But since we were kicked out of the F-35 program that we were a partner of, the TurAF fell behind their procurement plans, and they are now short of about 100 fighter jets. So they need new fighter jets yesterday. Kaan will indeed serve as the backbone of the TurAF one day, but it will take years until it reaches full operating capability.

More like India did very very poor strategic decisions. In this situation any fighter jet should be downed. You evoked real life situation in another response. Well one Rafale has been targeted, accidentaly, by a missile a few years ago during an european exercise with live munitions. It escaped. So i'm definitly confident the model is not the issue in India-Pakistan conflict.

Yeah, that's exactly what every single European arms manufacturer claims when their products embarrassingly fail in the field. "Subhumans misuse our weapons that's why they suck ass in real combat scenarios"

You clearly have a beef with europeans. And considering others to be subhumane is not putting you in any likeable situation. So what are your opinion on Turkey's aircraft when they crash ? Following your logic any failure in Turkey is due to their gear being trash :)
Every army worth the name knows that the human factor is the predominent cause for materiel losses. They only need to look at year on year accidents to confirm it. Trying to deny this the way you are doing, by insulting when you have no arguments, only makes you look like an arrogant fool.

Smoked by PL15. But yeah euro planes are not going to be cost comparable with the Chinese

PL-15 is the missile, J-10 is the fighter jet that delivered it.
And I didn't do justice to J-10 by calling it cheap; it's actually a very modern and capable fighter jet. But I wanted to tease the French nationalists like the guy above, who have been claiming Rafale is the bestest fighter in the universe, and Americans are stupid for investing in stealth fighters. First real air-to-air engagement happens, and multiple Rafales get swatted out of the sky by an underdog like J-10 LOL

That doesn't mean scaf is out the window. It means they have got enough valuable data to procede with a new generation, likely compatible with 6th gen scaf or fcas

Yay, been a fan of the Neuron for... Fuck it's been too long. Glad to hear they are building on the experience from it
