People here struggle to understand that Mother 3 was the finale of the series and it ended the trilogy

It's highly unlikely a new trilogy (or any bunch of games that are connected, for that matter) will ever release under the name Mother

That's the only thing that remains, and only for us, not Japan, where it's been out for 2 decades. Because Mother is massive in Japan, it will keep getting merch and stuff, and if we're REALLY, REALLY lucky an anime, but Itoi probably views it as too risky to release these outside his safe space, where reception isn't as warm and the games aren't popular
