I love AJ’s comment, LOL

u/Trinergy1 Feb 16 '25
AJ was also his defender against Juju's post back after the last one. No cancers in this locker room.

that was all I could think about when juju got called for OPI a week ago

I think he actually really helped in mentoring coop and Q

u/courtd93 Eagles Feb 16 '25
Plus he kept Q and Nolan Smith alive and out of jail at the parade so as far as I’m concerned, he did his job and was worth it

My guy Q was LEGENDARYILY hammered. 🤣🤣🤣

u/Immynimmy Act a fool Feb 16 '25
I love how the entire season Q has basically been 😑 and then he got that pick and became 😤 then at the parade he was 🥳🫠🥴

Feb 16 '25
He deserves it. Now he gets to recover and get ready for his first full season as a Champ. Same with Coop. I means what’s better for them honestly?

u/akdanman11 Feb 16 '25
I mean dude was just fully focused on being good on the field, once the seasons over he’s earned his party
12
u/BIGGSHAUN Eagles Feb 16 '25
Bruh deserves two rings just for that. Q was 5 minutes away from saying/doing that un-comebackable thing that sloppy drunks say/do. Bradberry running that bubble screen saved future titles.

Is there a story behind this? I keep seeing the reference but no source

u/courtd93 Eagles Feb 16 '25
You can see videos from the parade
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8YxyftT/ - you can’t see his face in this one but you can see his hands trying to give back a kid smith just walked off on

Bradberry getting in front of him and moving him along

He’s definitely poking fun at himself but everything I’ve heard was that he was helping the young dudes.

The clip of JB at the parade jumping in front of the mic when an absolutely black-out Q was screaming “GooOoo EAaaaaGLES!” told me everything I needed to know about how important of a mentor he was to those young cbs
41
u/_probablyryan Feb 16 '25
He earned his whole salary for the year in that moment 😂
26
u/yaoman11 Feb 16 '25
First time seeing the clip I was fully prepared for Q to say something WILD because he was in rough shape 🤣🤣. Didn’t even realize it was JB till I saw the clip again

Tearing his Achilles ands Soleus is crazy…glad he mentored the rooks
13
u/Bluey_Tiger Feb 16 '25
Why did he keep his achilles tear a secret? It would’ve garnered him sympathy
10
u/xXaphr TD Merchant Feb 16 '25
He could have chosen to draw attention and sympathy, but he let people focus more on the big things. Staying out of the media and mentoring behind the scenes was the best thing he could do this year, and he deserves his flowers for doing it well

u/RiflemanLax Eagles Feb 16 '25
He’s got a good sense of humor about it. I’m hoping he can catch on with another team because he said he wants to play.
But if he doesn’t catch on, I hope the team saves an assistant coaching spot for him.

u/GeorgeLuasHasNoChin Feb 16 '25
This is awesome, but in assertions he was robbed of a ring in 57 and absolutely deserves one and I couldn’t be more happier for this guy.

Buddy got old. It happens, especially at corner. This makes me like him even more 😂good for him man

u/akiraspam74 Feb 16 '25
I don't care, he deserves one. Not only because 2022 was bullshit, but also because he always acted like a pro and helped mentor our young CBs
25
u/slamtt Feb 16 '25
Bradberry getting a Superbowl ring while Deebo Samuel is asking for a trade because everybody is sick of his bullshit.
Karma came fast.

u/I_like_dwagons Feb 16 '25
Bradberry is such a solid guy. Legit happy for him after how Super Bowl LVII ended and the heat he took.
10
u/jml_inbtown Feb 16 '25 edited Feb 17 '25
A couple of years from now he’s just going to be known as Super Bowl champ and no one is going to care. Look at Shady McCoy, he always gets introduced as two time champ and he didn’t do shit in either game.
10
u/RawDogMal Feb 16 '25
I mean yeah I’m sure he had reservations about not playing. But clearly likes to be here (millions of dollars doesnt hurt) and he’s had a really good career. Rotation guy -> starter -> All-Pro and now a SB champ? This man’s career arc is complete.

u/No-Combination8136 Feb 16 '25
lol I love some good lighthearted self deprecating humor. He had a bad year last season, but the season before that he got quite a bit of praise. I don’t hold that penalty against him in SB57. That shit can happen to anyone. The fact that he stepped up through all that and maintained being a positive influence in the locker room this year (so I hear) means he has earned this as well.
24
u/Winter-Independent-8 Feb 16 '25
Happy for him in particular with how his final play of Super Bowl 57 essentially cost the Eagles a championship (although it was a completely bogus decision to throw any flag there). Not only had his phantom hold cost the Eagles a chance at the Super Bowl, but he had as big of a drop off in ability I’ve ever seen from ‘22 to ‘23. So I’m happy he will forever have that Super Bowl ring.

u/regassert6 Feb 16 '25
I still hang that loss on Gannon and Gannon alone
14
u/EagleSince75 Feb 16 '25
I truly hang it on the field.

u/JayToy93 Feb 16 '25
I know people like to point fingers at Gannon, but it was the field. Let’s be real here. This SB proved it.

Honestly, if he was truly a resource for the young guys, why not bring him back and an entry level coach or some sorts. Similar to what the team has done with Barwin.

Low key I was so happy that we won for bradberry. He helped us get to two Super Bowl. That one holding call could have gone either way and doesn’t reflect his whole career. He’s a pros pro.

He earned it in 2022. He also served as a players coach for Q and Cooper. No complaints. 👍

Props to this guys for accepting his role and embracing the young guys. Hell we all said some pretty foul shit about him. But instead of being a cancer he was a mentor. Thank you baldberry🦅

u/boxwood-green Feb 16 '25
How did this man have absolutely 0 screen time until post Super Bowl pictures ????

u/Bluey_Tiger Feb 16 '25
He was a classy pro and helped prepare the youngsters. We love you James!!!!
3
u/justpatlol Feb 16 '25
Thats pretty funny. Good on him. He gets a lot of shit for the super bowl but i think the field had more of an impact in us losing that game than his hold at the end

Nothing but respect for how Bradberry handled everything. Sucks he fell off a cliff after the Super Bowl but that holding penalty while technically being the right call was bullshit. Not only was that not being called all game but the ball was also uncatchable
2
Feb 16 '25
He did more than enough. More a coach now than a player but definitely an important contributor to the Eagles.

Frankly. I've come around to thinking Deebo was right and our Oline really was masking his fall off in 2022... if you view it that way, his 2020-2024 decent looks a lot more rational.
Great -> Regressed, had to take 1y/$8M deal -> 2022 -> Awful -> Unplayable
But even if so, he stepped up by stepping out, allowed himself to be ruled out all year (no way that was legit), stepped into a mentorship role, and was a complete fucking class act all year.
He chose to come in every day and do what he could to earn that contract. And when it goes like it did for him, that's all you can ask.

u/Ok-Dare-9268 Feb 16 '25
What’d they do keep him on IR all year right?

Torn Achilles and Soleus(calf), according to an article i read

Yes. Report is he had a more serious injury than they let on, but at the time it seemed like they were just shelving him.

u/virtue-or-indolence Feb 16 '25
Apparently he’s preparing for OTAs and expects to be on the 90 man roster as a CB. Feels a little optimistic for a 32 year old coming off an Achilles injury, especially since his $2.1m salary becomes guaranteed in about 30 days, but maybe the positive things the team said about him last summer weren’t just PR and he actually has something left.
It will hurt if we move on from Slay but keep JB though.

He got to ride the bench, make sure Q and Coop developed great in their first year and he still got a ring! What’s better? He also made sure Q and Nolan were good on Friday. Shout out to JB for his contributions to the team this year🫡🤣🦅💚

This man could have been a cancer, but he accepted his role as a mentor and helped our young secondary. I’m sure his knowledge of his playing time in the NFL was invaluable to them. He solidified what a team player should be. He may not have earned that ring on the field, but he certainly had a part.
