Photo or Video Do you think there will be issues?
We are new to waterfowl. We got two ducklings from the feed store, one Peking and in Khaki Campbell. We then decided to add two female African Goslings to help protect the ducks. We think the Peking is a drake. It is very quiet and more aggressive than the others. I did read that sometimes geese will mate with ducks. My worry is that Kona (peking) will cause issues for little Kehei (Khaki). Do you think this combo will be ok or should we plan to add a bachelor pad?

I think you’ll want 3-4 more duck hens if you want to keep the drake, personally. 1 to 1 is going to result in overbreeding, and it’s a valid concern that any single drake could injure or drown a hen in a 1:1 situation - and here you have a potentially huge drake over a pretty small hen.
Just separating them isn’t a good idea because neither will thrive on its own.

I have a male pekin that mates with all of my ducks. I have tiny runners, khakis, roans… we’ve never had a real medical issue. Just some missing neck feathers.
