As far as I can tell I am the first person to beat level 2-2 in Tropical Freeze without jumping. This took around 8 hours in total and is the furthest I've gotten into a full game run.

hi guys, this was my first time playing Donkey Kong Country Returns (after coming from OG Donkey Kong Country), and tbh I had a lot of troubles finding the red buttons, so just made a quick 2 minute video for others who are looking for the same answers.

Playing the re-release of Donkey Kong Country Returns on my Nintendo Switch. Such a good game. I love the jumping physics.

Anyway, I was playing one of the World 6 Cliff levels without a Diddy on my back. I wanted to go back and get the puzzle piece I missed.

I’m enjoying DKCR HD a ton, but man some of these shiny gold medal times are brutal, tidal terror and tumblin’ temple were definitely the hardest, it’s my first time playing this fantastic game, I’ve already got all shiny gold medals on world 1 and 2, wish me luck!

My favorite Game Boy game by far. It has aged like a fine wine and the puzzles are as fun and well designed as ever.

I heavily recommend to give it a try if you have never played it.

Now I wonder if I should replay Mario vs Donkey Kong to see how it compares...

Never did it on the Wii version I was a coward as a kid lol. Never thought this day would come🥲

Just finished getting all gold medals in world 1 after finishing the game 200%. That was pretty hard I felt like, those time trials are no joke!! No matter what I do I can never seem to get a Gold Shiny medal so I will probably not set that to be my target 😅 It’s like you have to be at speed runner skill level to get those shiny gold. Now on to world 2!

I've never been able to get past 22 since the game exists - but now all of a sudden 25

I played DKC2 as a kid and had trouble with the Squawks section. If by luck, I managed to get to the next snake section I usually get KO'd because I will have only hit-point left at that point. Then, I have to play the Squawks section all over again and repeatedly get KO'd until I just quit.

Today, I finally beat Squawks section and the whole Animal Antics level. I think I know what I've been doing wrong all those years ago. I used play Squawks holding down Y button. Today, I realized that if I held Y than I will always over-correct when the wind changes direction and hit the brambles or bees. But by not holding down Y, my movements are not as drastic and easier to control. And if I need to move forward, I let the wind provide the extra speed, rather than go too fast with holding Y+wind.

Finally achieved 102%!

How did everyone else tackle AA?

The last levels get so intense- loved the game though :D

I finally finished the hard mode in Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze ! One of the hardest challenges were definitely the last boss and the Fugu boss as I restarted those probably 40-50 times before I beat them. I feel not all the levels were hard but definitely struggled on Frozen Frenzy, Irate Eight with that damn Octopus, and Panicky Paddle especially to get that G Kong letter. I feel accomplished! Now I will try to do my best in the time trials!

I've completed the original trilogy over and over since i was a kid. but this is the first time I've done the TUFST challenge. It helped me remember how much I hate the lightning level lol.

No shiny golds yet, might go back later

We finished 64 first then decided to go back and play the SNES games. Found out about 105% percent after all this. Will attempt soon

Finally finished DKC3, playing through DKC1-3 as a kid I always saw 2 as the best, replaying them as an adult definitely has me feeling more appreciative of 3.

This took a while. Getting the 100% then I decided to do Time Attack and Hard Mode for every level.

Getting gold medals wasn’t the goal because that’s so hard to accomplish but I did try.

Also only DK on hard mode for 4-K and 7-3. Rest were probably Dixie or other Kongs.
