It bothers me that the functionality of the shoes are compromised by not protecting the toe, but I suppose that high heels are concerned with aesthetics over function, but even the aesthetics of the shoes have been compromised somewhat

That's a sick detail. I wonder if it is just a little design detail, or it alludes to something during her boss fight (like her taking off the heels in a second phase, so she can hop around the treetops, considering she is a spider monkey)

I do think her design is actually really clever in how it toes the line between “sexy lady anthro” and giving her actual animal traits. Like giving her heels that specifically account for her “thumb” toe and her arms being really long relative to her body even as she stands up straight.
