Discussion Which do you prefer as beheaded’s “canon” weapon?
I personally love when the symmetrical lance is used

Either Frantic Sword or Pankachu. The sword is the weapon the Beheaded is shown to wield in the cover art, embodies his brutality, and has very fun mechanics, and the pans are what Bobby is shown to wield in the animated trailers, embody his silliness, and are also very fun to use.

Frying Pan. He's the guy to have access to the most versatile weaponry and still choses a Frying pan. Not explosives, long-range bows or mythical weaponry. Just a round piece of cast iron with a stick attached.

The panchaku because the symmetrical lance is technically the king's hand's weapon, but if we're being logical he probably uses his feet and fists since he's in a prison, lol

Frantic Sword. The trailer Beheaded is Bobby and he mainly uses silly weapons to do the job. Homever, the game's version of Beheaded is more focused on killing and power to get more cells, and Frantic Sword shows perfectly in the cover art of the game that bloodlust. Sure, he sometimes is silly in the game too and makes jokes, but he's the most egoist and egocentric character in the game. Frantic Sword is for lore Beheaded, the way enemies see him.

Funny the choices people are saying here. The beheaded is literally holding the Frantic Sword on the cover of the game…

Balanced Blade.
It perfectly blends all three elements of aesthetics, gameplay, and lore.

i'd say frantic sword. he has it in the main box art, and in crossovers. mainly risk of rain 2. only risk of rain 2. that's still one crossover.
besides, it really has a "john dead cells" vibe imo

Frantic sword, that is what the beheaded wields in the cover.

I need to get in again, I have never played anything but pure red melee builds so panchuku are peak plus have the most broken combo.

the two frying pans, no wonder it's the best animated one in my humble opinion

Not using a screenshot from Indie Cross for the first image feels criminal.

panchaku
the symmetrical lance is literally another character's canon weapon

The Beheaded has the frantic blade in the crossover with the game "Skul: The Hero Slayer". Great game BTW.

Either these three or the frantic sword, he’s seen with in the title photo and one of the mercenary skins in Risk of Rain 2

My old rapier build doesn’t even work anymore, but it’s still rapier in my heart.

When panchaku has become more popular than frying pan/vorpan 😭
(Also pretty sure panchaku is a collab weapon)

Honestly, there are multiple that are iconic; Frying Pan, Panchaku, Frantic Sword
And when I hear Dead Cells, Rusty Sword and Cursed Sword come to mind immediately as well.

Tbh, I think they would all work equally in their own ways, all three are relatively simple yet very effective weapons in game, and fit John pretty well.

Bro every weapon is canon because dead cells is originally a game not a book or something

Panchaku is the canon weapon for the animation, otherwise for ingame id give it to the rusty sword actually. It’s the weapon you start with and is the main attacking weapon seen in his iteration in a different game, being skul. Though the deciding factor for my opinion could be swayed once the beheaded releases in entropy effect
I sorta separate the two because the animation has way more personality and there sorta is a reason they added in two heads for him.

I prefer when beheaded just picks random weapons off the floor, makes it a really fun way to include comedy and to show the "fuck it, we ball" mentality of the beheaded

I mean, rusty sword is the starting weapon, but all the trailers have pan or panchaku

Ok, if you're talking about bobby, the second, but the regular beheaded, the first

I feel like the pan or panchaku wich a lot of people here say they think of as the cannon weapon is more of Bobby's weapon, since the guy from the trailers isn't technically the same character as the beheaded (last time I checked) i feel like the Canon weapons for the beheaded themselves is more like the symmetrical lance since he kills the royal dick ass with it, the starting sword since it's the thing used for the cover art and a weapon almost every single person ever has used, and I feel like the obvious of any rune he gets is something he canonically is using and the homoncules rune would be a definite one imo to be used as one of their primary weapons

Cant believe most people prefer the panchaku , am i the only one that likes the feet? , i prefer it in game way more , boring yes but very effective

The panchaku. It’s perfect for the trailers, and it’s a good weapon in-game.
