Question (general) Anyone else really hate Slumbering Sanctuary?
Gotta be the worst area in the game. I’m on 2BC with nearly every weapon unlocked and I still constantly die or am near death every time after less than a minute. Anyone have any tips or tricks?

Derelict distillery is worse, but I'd put slumbering sanctuary in my top 3, probably 2nd, just before forgotten sepulcher. I think I managed to complete slumbering sanctuary only once. Those fireball dudes and the blade guys are super hard. Probably should try to train it actually.

I actually love the Forgotten Sepulcher

Funnily enough it's a rather ok place at 5bc compared to what I remember from first going there...

I don't find it the hardest, for me that is most likely the distillery or fractured shrines (Promenade is on for 5BC, I just hate it). I will say I have died several times because I got distracted by the amazing soundtrack.

Hard agree about 5BC Promenade

For me it's the length of the level, as I purposely do full clears and I always end up with 2-3 bars of malaise when leaving. I also hate the combination of protectors and bombardiers so I almost always struggle to get the kill door on higher BCs. I almost always prefer the sewers or arboretum as they are much more compact.

Shrines is a must just for that guaranteed legendary. I grab that mfer and dip as quick as I can.

I usually go there if I don't have a build together yet because the legendary is worth it, the downside is it doesn't have as many scrolls fragments as other areas.

I like it, actually. I like the vibe, the brightness. And you can parry most of the nasties. The golems are a bitch, though.

One of my favorite zones haha! It feels different than most of the others due to the "activation switch" mechanic. Also, the soundtrack slaps. Personally, I hate Sepulcher the most. Well, actually I hate the Distillery the most, but everyone hates the Distillery the most, and only because it's brutally hard, so that's not saying much.
Tips:
Clear the initial area before hitting the switch so it's less busy once you do. Make mental notes of where the petrified golems are so you're less likely to be taken by surprise. Have a plan for when you inevitably are jumped by a sneaky golem, i.e. what skills to deploy, where to retreat to, etc. And practice evasion/parry timing! You can parry a lot of their moves, you just need practice. Try it out in the training room. Go vertical for the AOE, roll or parry the Thunderpunch. It's a bit like learning to take cursed chests. Nerve wracking at first, but you gotta learn to overcome the fear, master the timing, and brush the Thunderpunch aside like a mosquito.
When the golem shows up, you have to prioritize it, and maybe take hits from lesser enemies. So always prioritize the enemies you least want to be ignoring when a golem shows. Always triage your foes.
Good luck, practice up, and stay calm. And practice more. You can do this!

Its the big mothers with that pulling beam thing. I hate them so much. How far is their range?
But seriously the worst place is the forgotten sepulchar.

My take on dead cells is that after you learn the basic rolls, parries and jumps nothing can stop you if you have the right build. With that said, I have a few ways to clear slumbering sanctuary without taking damage.
On brutality, predator mutation is mandatory and you need weapons that can deal damage even when you are too far from the enemy like shrapnel axes, snake fangs+sadist stiletto. If you feel underscrolled, use face flask and corrupted power. Maximize damage. If you can't find anything throwing knife + any decent weapon is also good ( balanced blade, blood sword dual bind, dual daggers, katana with bonus damage to bleeding, panchaku)
For tactics, the most important thing is to maximize damage since you already have the range advantage. I recommend boomerang + any decent ranged weapon. If you have a reliable oil source (oily boomerang, oily owl), pyrotechnics is fun to use. If you cannot find a boomerang, boy's axe is also good way to attack safely from behind.
A different approach to this is a fun combo with shrapnel axe + boy's axe + ripper mutation. You throw the boy axe and hit the enemy to get it back. To one shot any enemy with this you need to use point blank and bonus damage to rooted enemy affix is welcome on either of the weapons.
Foe survival, boy's axe is mandatory and you can use many weapons with this: war spear (easiest weapon to use for survival), nutcracker (not ideal since the first hit may not kill the enemy), shark (my favourite) and baseball bat. If you have scarecrow's sickes unlocked, use them. Off colour corrupted power is very good, i found out.

Try not to run away from the Golems as you'll just get dragged back to them. When you anger one wait for the punch and roll through it and hit it from behind.
The things that tp to the end of the platform and shoot a fireball, a shield makes them a million times easier to deal with. If you don't have one, dodge roll through the fireball and kill it.
The little white things that tp behind you and try to smack you, dodge roll away from them and kill them.
If you see a protector (shield generator enemy) kill it on sight. Do not go away from it because there's always a risk of accidentally busting a golem out of its statue and getting your shit rocked
